New Year's Evil

So, what plans does everyone have for NYE tonight? I know everyone across the pond is already there. This year I’m DJing at a friend’s party down in Chandler. Gonna assault everyone with lots of industrial, obscure new wave, goth, etc. Fortunately my friends are into all that. The hostess is a major Rush fan (as am I), so that’ll be in the mix, too. Should be a fun, if not laid-back night.

AZ just recently passed some stiffer DUI penalties, but I’m sure the task force will nail plenty of knuckleheads tonight. First time offenders now get a min. 10 days in the hole, plus $1250 in fines and an interlock ignition device installed in their vehicle. Seems like we have a lot of drunk driving assholes in this town, so I’m sure I’ll be reading about 200+ arrests tomorrow morning.

Have a good time tonight, everybody.

Happy New’s Eve Prongers.

i’m chillin at the house, debating whether or not to go to my local pub - which is walking distance. prob stay in tho.

2008… It’s happened at last.

w00t worked all new years…booyah?

Before the ball drops play Countdown from Signals.

That song’s madcool.

Didn’t think about that…would’ve made more sense than my choice. I lost track of time, and when I realized it was 5 til midnight, just threw on 4th of July by U2 until the ball dropped, then played New Year’s Day, of course. The party hostess requested Limelight, so I played that one, and Time Stand Still and The Pass later on. Oh, also played a cover of Bravado, which a friend and I recorded last year.

On the Ministry-related front, I played We Believe early on, Thieves towards the end, You Often Forget (Benign), and Generation Execute. Also played a more recent Pigface song, The Horse You Rode In On. I had Idiot by Lead Into Gold in the queue, but forgot to play it. What else…played Laibach’s Opus Dei, Nitzer Ebb’s Chant and Murderous, Cab Voltaire’s Bad Self, Monitor by Siouxsie, some old Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, IKON, Killing Joke, Severed Heads, FLA, MBM, Chameleons, The Church, Depeche, Kitchens, Mission, Curve, Wire, etc. Last song was Carnage Visors by The Cure. Somehow I never got around to playing 242 or Skinny Puppy, hmm.

Overall a fun night. Had some beers, drank lots of water, crashed at 5:30 AM, and managed to avoid a New Year’s hangover.

which church song? nice choice on the closer.

The Church song was “As You Will”, one of my favorites by them.
