New TKK

Looking on pollstar, I noticed TKK is coming through my town again in May. So I go over to their website and see they’ve got a new album coming out pretty quick. The title is “Death Threat”. The new track on myspace sounds kind of cool and the cover art and concert poster look nice as well. Last time I saw them they blew pretty bad, hopefully this time around will be an improvement.

When I think of TKK I think of Eric Draven cleaning up.

What didn’t you like about them when you saw them? I saw them the last go around and they sounded OK and what was there looked OK… problem was that they were only a shell of a band. Most of it was preprogrammed.

It felt like bad karaoke. I also think Frank has lost most of his voice, and has definitely lost his wail/scream.

New TKK. Hell yes.

karaoke. uh…YEAH
their stage presence has always been like that. caliber of a cheesy dragshow, but that’s part of the shtick. i’m embarrassed to not know of these new developments.

i think the first time i saw a TKK show was in a gay bar in chicago. (i could be wrong…mental note:must consult francis at earliest opportunity)

TKK got worse with each album imo…A Crime For All Seasons being the point when they started sucking, but even it is better than Reincarnation of Luna or Gay Black and Married…ugh…

Confessions Of A knife and 13 Above The Night though…holy shit! The latter was my soundtrack of 2002…on cassette!!! And I love Sexplosion and Hit & Run too, so I’m at least half gay…

I’ve seen them four times. First time was on the Sexplosion tour and it was gob-smackingly good, the last time was with Ministry and it was mind numbingly bad. I hope their new tour is better than that (though they’re not coming to MPLS, so I’ll just have to take others’ word for it either way).

Has anybody heard the Darling Kandie cd that groovie mann did with william tucker? any good?

I only saw TKK live once around 1998-99 and the were fucking amazing

Darling Kandie is cool, it’s got a lot of the brooding, bass-filled songs on TKK’s works…it’s good, get it
