I recently got the Seventh Void album from Type O Negative’s guitar player.
It sounds more like Soundgarden than the last Soundgarden did.

I like the 7th Void way more than Soundgarden…
Sometimes I feel like I’m the only person that has never given a crap about Soundgarden. Ever. I’m okay with that, though.

I never gave a crap about anything they did after Badmotorfinger. In fact, if I’m to be honest , I never gave a crap about ANYTHING they did other than Badmotorfinger (which is stellar btw).
Until the new album came out and it reignited my interested in them after not giving a crap for around 15 years.
Still can’t listen to Superunknown though. Their “FM Rock radio” phase.

You’ve perfectly summed up my view of Soundgarden. That was such a great album, the rest was all either not as good or just totally boring.

I remember there were plans a while back to do a follow-up but it never materialized…I’d like to see Kenny back in action again in some capacity…I know Josh Silver became an EMT and over course Johnny Kelly plays in about any band that will have him…
Really sad that there will never be anymore Type O stuff…there isn’t even any unreleased stuff in the trunk either…miss Peter, man…one of a kind…

Their original drummer has a doomy band too - A Pale Horse Named Death. They’re not bad.
I read that there’s still a studio version of their “Bad Moon Rising” cover that hasn’t been released, but I guess that’s it.

Yeah Sal’s Pale Horse seems more in the AiC vein…yeah, they aren’t bad…I know he also did some recent shows with Life of Agony also…
I couldn’t get the sample to play, but the cover art is sure a bunch of lame generic doo doo.

haha, i remember Exit Stonehenge. no Say Goodnight?
& i forgot all about Seventh Void. i’ll check them out again after i wear out Type O this season.
Definitely the season for Type O…
I’m a fan. So I’ll pick this up. Superunknown was kind of overrated but I get why it had the impact it did. King Animal was a fine return to the glory days. I’m glad they didn’t try and reinvent the wheel for that one.
