Actually not bad. Slower, foot off the pedal and the parts allowed to breathe, rather than the speed metal of modern Ministry. Quite amused by the Greta samples. Just wish Paul could’ve put his Bass magic on it.
I like this one, probably my favorite Ministry track since they came back (though I haven’t really listened to the new stuff that much). The 80s gothic acoustic guitars in the breakdown section are cool and I dig the use of samples through the song.
I agree that Paul’s bass would have added a lot. A good strong bassline is missing.
Glad to see you back, green. You weren’t around for a while. I was hoping you didn’t run into trouble and were just getting settled.
For those with no spotify (Like me)
Totally agree about the song needing Paul’s bass.
Yeah man, I was laid out on my ass for a little over three weeks (respiratory stuff, so probably covid but despite claims to the contrary, testing actually isn’t easy to get unless you have great insurance). I’ve been symptom free for about a week, so life is better now.
Oh, wow man you did run into problems. I just thought you were getting settled. Well, I’m glad you beat it if it indeed was covid… at least youre in the clear now.
It’s alright. Didn’t blow me away or anything, but it’s ok.
I like it. I think it’s cool.
Very much in line with what the vibe they had in AMERIKKKANT.
I thought the guitars were a bit weak, but, overall it’s a pretty nice track.
I like the funky noises and scratch samples and shit going on in the background.
I like it! It’s not groundbreaking Ministry in any way, but still better than most of the tracks off “Amerikkkant”, of which I liked Victims Of A Clown and Antifa, basically. The guitar sounds better than on the last record, and I like what’s going on with the bass and background samples on the mid-section. Like many others, I wouldn’t mind a Barkeresque bass with the main riff doing something simple yet not just following the guitar note by note, but hey. This sounds promising for the new album.
