Well… I’m a huge Slayer fan and I can say that I don’t like it very much. I hope the album is better than that piece of shite. It sounds too much like their first couple of albums. I really don’t get much into Slayer until everything between Reign In Blood through God Hates Us All. Everything in between that is freakin’ awesome and just kept getting better. GHUA is quite honestly, IMO, their pinnacle album. It’s everything they’ve been doing for years magnified by 1000x. Christ Illusion was ok but started sounding a bit stale after the 3rd spin. This just sounds the exact same as all their early crap from Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits. A bunch of really fast pissed off riffs and some crazy convoluted solos with some guy barking crap that no one really listens to. It’s not even catchy.

I dunno. Maybe the rest of the album will be better. I mean… Even Reign In Blood and Diabolus In Musica had a few flawed moments but were great albums.

I totally dig ‘South Of Heaven’ and ‘Seasons In The Abyss’. The live ‘Decade Of Aggression’ is essential also.

Everything else is…meh (YES, even Reign In Blood).

More excited about the prospect of hearing a new Mastodon and possibly a new Tool album next year.
