“Now is the only thing that’s real…”

Raw, uncompromising, and visceral, Skinny Puppy live cannot be called simply a concert. It is an experience. Bootlegged, Broke And In Solvent Seas proves this to be true. Recorded in Warsaw, Bratislava, Hildesheim, and Budapest, this is a documentation of Skinny Puppy in top form. Unlike so many other live albums, there is no editing magic or trickery. These are the songs as they were played: captured from the soundboard and a handheld recorder by Ken ‘Hi-Watt’ Marshall. Ogre’s powerful vocal performances coupled with cEvin Key’s synth modulations and sound manipulations and the machine-precise drums of Justin Bennet make this a stunning testimony to the power of this legendary act.

Seems promising enough… gonna pick this up.

Looks kinda bare… Especially, when I know that they played so much more and better songs on that tour.

PLAY SOME ZZ TOP, MUTHERF**KERZZZ!!!

PLAY SOME ZZ TOP, MUTHERF**KERZZZ!!!

my 7 year old is sitting next to me, and he saw the pic of Al up there ^ and he asked me ‘whats wrong with that guy’s eyebrows’.

dude this is great news thanks for sharing. i’m gonna grab this. i’m stoked.

@ gunner - LOL

Great tour. Great setlist. Ken Marshall’s a fucking great mixer.

On the fence on the release, though - do I really want to get a THIRD live Skinny Puppy record? I didn’t think their last one worked, it was better to experience in person…

It does look appealing to me. My one regret is not hearing Shore Lined Poison live, so this will make up for it. Glad they included Rodent, as it’s my favorite track on Rabies.

when i saw them in london on this tour the sound was absolutely fucking shit, yet all the puppy fans were going on about how awesome it was. talk about blinkered vision (or hearing?!). i found it embarassing really, i’d dragged my g/f along to see them and she just didn’t get it at all, and i could totally see why. i should point out that the performance was great, and if you knew the songs it made sense, but the sound in the venue was just apalling and ruined the experience. having said that, when they got to the encore, the sound did improve somewhat and Assimilate was pretty great. and they played shore lined poison. i’ll be buying the album just to see what it should have sounded like.

must me…i mean, really.

eloquent pearls of wisdom. fucking poetry, y’all.

That’s a great setlist IMO! Shore Lined Poison? Rodent? Even though I didn’t dig the last three records, I’m there for this live album!

Skinny Puppy is still one my all time favorites. I have everything on CD and vinyl, so I will certainly be picking this up.

Yes, because clearly the top picture is more “embarrasing”
