Well, I mean it’s a gimmick but the merit behind it isn’t what is intended. The Melvins even put out a live album solely on 8-track, and it looks badass because the paper on it looks weathered and beaten like an actual 8-track.
Most experimental musicians still release material on audio cassettes only, a bold move considering I know 1 of 5 people who own decks, let alone 8-track players…
So I mean, yeah. It won’t sell out, even limited to 100 because… I mean…how the hell would one play it?
Shit like this is a waste of fucking time. Someone out there still has Dad’s 70s stereo in the basement with an 8-track. That’ll get ripped to CD/Mp3 and then it’s out and free.

ha, i used to use an old receiver with 8 track on it. our band did a similar thing in high school, be bought a bunch of old ones an dubbed our record over them.
that thing fucking bumped, man. it had tubes and everything
tubes. kick ass.
my first (and best) amp, had tubes. Had to turn it on and let it warm up before it would start working.
