Trent just released his new album “the slip” completely free on his website.
havent heard it yet, but i thought many of you would be interested.
listening to it now. thanks trank. I’m broke.
early favorite is corona radiata.
one of the early tracks has a 1,000 homo djs feel.
I’m listening to it now, so far I like ‘Head Down’ and ‘1000,000’…
will need to give this a few more listens to give a full opinion, it’s not growing on me as fast as YZ did , but I don’t dislike or really like…hmm…
I shall have this on repeat for the next week and let it sink in.
Head Down is awesome, it’ll probably end up my fave from the album. The two later instrumental tracks are really good too.
I think I’ll DL this and buy it if it goes physical. I was rather impressed with “With_Teeth,” and while I found YZ blatantly unlistenable, I do appreciate how goddamned NOISY it was. I’m interested, especially since this is following “Ghosts.”
It might take awhile for it to grow on me, if it does. It’s very different from his other stuff. Album is also very noisey, but much more minimalistic. It’s one of those albums I want to like, but I dunno. Have listened to it a bunch so far, and still am.

Fair enough. [:)]
good stuff so far. demon seed sounded cool the first time around.
NIN is one of those bands where I’m a sucker for the physical product.
I’m playing my free download now, but I’ll also be buying the disc in July.
not bad at all, i think it’s better than Year Zero, and slightly better than With Teeth. (I don’t rate YZ very high, I thought it was kinda boring… Obsolete by Fear Factory was a better ‘anti-gov’t’ concept lp)
I prefer this to With Teeth (though wt had four outstanding tracks).
It is far messier and less poppy than WT. I like it and no doubt it will remain on repeat for the next couple of weeks.
Reznor has churned out so much new material of late, It’ll be interesting to see how much his sets differ each night on his U.S tour.
Great way of getting his fans to part with as much cash as possible when it comes to grabbing tickets for as many dates as poss.
At least with this tour you’ll know you’ll get a good mix of new original stuff , old classics and No covers…[cool]
no covers? alas no ‘dead souls’ or ‘get down make love’.
well , ‘get down make love’ hasn’t been done since the self destruct tour back in '94.
Dead souls he won’t bother with now as he did that over the WT tour (in the UK anyway)
my point being, he has enough non repetitive material to safely do plenty of varied gigs without relying on a ‘cover’ album as a final bow at the end of every show.
“This is for all you Ministry fans who got into us around Twitch and Rape and Honey, and listen to bands like Skinny Puppy and 242. I know you’ll appreciate it. It’s called Roadhouse Blues…let’s RAWK!”
Oh, the new NIN’s alright, better than With Teeth, but still bordering on forgettable. I do like Trent’s methods of releasing music, esp. dropping a couple of ‘singles’ first before releasing the record. We need bands releasing singles again, however they do it. I like the hi-res art, too, very nice.

Ah yes, of course…“We’re gonna play some OLD ones.” Now I get it. They’re playing songs that pre-dated With Sympathy, what am I bitching about?! My apologies to Alain Jourgensen & Co. [:(]

They have played Get Down Make Love pretty recently actually. I think it was dusted off and played during the later parts of the WT touring, and for YZ as well. I remember watching a video of it as well (prolly youtube).
Album-wise, it’s growing on me a great bit. It’s still very different to me, and it’s almost incomparable to the other material of the past. And I am starting to catch that punk-vibe. Not a bad album at all.
I agree with Kez in that I also prefer this to With Teeth. Even other albums for me. I like this - it’s a solid album, though a couple of songs on there remind me of Only from WT (great song). I’m curious to hear the remixes.
LordPiko, I was referring to get down make love not being played in the UK , apologies, I should have made my last post a little clearer.[blush]
Fucking hell this guy doesn’t waste any time pupming out albums?!!
