New Music Seminar 1983 @ The Ritz in NYC

Isn’t Patty on the front cover of the ‘Nature Of Love Single’?

Nope, yet another urban legend that;s not correct. That’s actually Patti Pezzati on the Nature Of Love 12". She was a Wax Trax employee and sister of the singer for Naked Raygun. I don’t even remember if I changed it on the site yet, but I know that’s been on here somewhere incorrectly for years.

wempathy, or Ed can correct me, but Patty not only sung back up on some of the '84-86 songs, she also booked the later tours I believe.

While she’s often mis-credited as singing backing vocals on With Sympathy, you’re right. To my knowledge, that was the extent of Patty’s involvement with the band. She also did keyboards on tour in 1984 after Doug Chamberlin dropped out of the band.

Al keeps putting his girls in the band. He needs to stop.

Great pictures, wemp.

It’s kind of funny how a bunch of that crew lives in Austin. It isn’t exactly Chicago here.

Nothing wrong with Austin. If I had to pick a place to winter over/retire to, I’d head straight to Austin. My brother lives there and I lived in Houston for 6 years so I got to Austin quite a bit. It suits me fine.

That said…who in the Ministry crowd was really from Chicago in the first place? Stevo, JD, me and Peter Katsis. That’s all I can think of and Stevo and Peter don’t even live here anymore. It’s just me now. [;)]

Well, I was definitely wrong about that one. By-the-way, Patti’s on Facebook (as Patti Pezzati Brand).

Speaking of Stevo, wempathy, last I talked to him he was booking a flight and said he was wanting to discuss a lot of things for the site but he had a flight to catch. I don’t like to bug people…since he’s in demand, and since he said he’s still interested, should I still get in touch with him down the line?

I’ve mentioned a prongs interview to him a few times and he always seems inclined so I’m sure it’s OK. I’ll give him a heads up and of course his email is easy to find. It’s listed on his website.

… YES.

Excellent pics, wemp. That first one of Al is utterly priceless.

As for Patty… DAYUM.

[cool]

These are great. Thank you wempathy!!!

Looks like twin Roland Juno 60s over there on stage right! I still have a working Juno 60 in my garage - including the manufacturer’s cassette tape with the different sets of “patches” (or maybe they were called tone banks - can’t remember).

Is this the show that Depeche Mode and/or A Flock of Seagulls played with Ministry?

Very nice wempathy… Makes me want to sport my eighties gear and dance some euro-trash. Long live the 80’s!

Fabulous pics all around. That’s the first REAL pic I’ve ever seen of Patty! I love little surprises that pop up on this site like these pics & Bisquit’s rarities.

Wempathy, any idea if the hat Al’s sporting in that first pic is the same one he’s wearing on the cover photos on the I Wanted to Tell Her & Revenge sleeves?

The Roland on the outside is the fabled Jupiter 8. An outstanding piece of gear. But yes, the other Roland is a 60. The synth facing Stevo is a Moog Source. Brad also had 2 keyboards on his side…a Sequential Circuits Pro-One and a Roland String Synth (RS-101?).

I think that the DM show was the year before at NMS. I’m not sure when the FoS show was exactly, or if there was one to be honest.

I’m telling you, Ministry - American Synthpop Legends, considering most synthpop came from England. All you guys look pretty fuckin cool, even Al.

El Cubano needs to see these pics.

dicecrusher’s pic is fucking classic, i’m going to make it my wallpaper.

I should really redo that cover of “She’s Got a Cause.” Fucking viruses…

Think I should start a tribute band to With Sympathy called “The Abortions.”

Yeah, I figured. And his email, I’ve done so from his professional site. No reply. Let me know, I’m free when he is.
