New Lard

While waiting today I sneaked a peek over at that other website, and I noticed that Al is now posting on PA. He confirmed that there will be a new Lard album this year recording probably starting on May 1st the first to be recorded in his new studio followed by another Prong record.

biafra maybe needs some mid-life counselling.
or really needs attention. geez…

to be followed by the Lard revamp tour. watch.

oh noes

Biafra’s always really needed attention.
Anyway, I’m hoping for the best. I liked the two RevCo tracks with him.

“Viagra Culture” was a ton of fun, also Al’s remix of the Melvins/Biafra track was awesome. I look forward to new Lard.

I don’t think Jello has lost a step at all…still as awesome as ever. As long as he’s writing the lyrics, I’m there.

I really think Barker will need to be there for it to sound right!

I’m equally torn between “OH, GOODY” and “AL ONOZ WTF!1”

I agree 100%. Infact I think Last Sucker type music with Biafra writing and performing vocals would’ve been rather cool.

This Lard album could really save Al’s ass in the coolness stakes. But don’t quote me on that.

I don’t know what to make of this.

There’s not as much to ruin as there was with Ministry but still Lard had their moments. Not too pushed about them these days, enjoyed them more when I was in school. ‘Last Temptation…’ is still worthy though.

Last song I heard Biafra working with Al was ‘Ass Clown’ which was one of the more ok songs from Rio.

If this turns into a disaster I’ll be able to blot it out more than I could with the Bush albums.

If its ok … well then its ok.

I’d rather more Flowering Blight though.

Wouldn’t this be the first time since Last Temptation of Reid that songs were specifically written for Lard? My impression was always that Pure Chewing Satisfaction and 70s Rock Must Die were made up of Ministry’s leftovers repurposed as Lard songs.

I think I read somewhere before that most of Pure Chewing Satisfaction was made in 1993 but was delayed cos Biafra got beat up and J Ward died. Ward does drums on ‘I Wanna Be a Drug Sniffin Dog’ and Biafra wrote lyrics on all of the songs so I’d presume most of the albums inclusions were designed to be Lard songs (well maybe not Mangoat.)

Last Temptation is still Lard’s pinnacle however. Everything Lard will always be compared to that.

blasphemy. [:)]

I hope this isn’t ruined like pretty much everything else.
Just please no new pailhead.

agreed on the last temptation. i also remember that couple years ago barker said that his favourite side project was lard.

i also read in several places that pure chewing satisfaction riffs are basically all from 92-93 and most of them being leftovers from the psalm 69 sessions.

Some of them have Washem, so they’d have to be leftovers from Filth Pig. Special ed probably knows.
My guess is they probably mixed some old stuff and some new stuff into a big goulash of Lardy goodness.

yeah, that may be true too; maybe they had to rerecord some stuff. also according to some other info, 70’s rock must die ep was released in 1999 but it had two tracks from the pure chewing satisfaction batch.

Is Biafra in the new Lard? Maybe he isn’t. I mean, look at rev co…

Good question.
Maybe he’ll get one of the various DK singers the other guys have hired over the years.
