Sascha’s out of ideas and doing anti-bush albums? I don’t think so. I really enjoyed the Blitz album, and seeing how diverse the list of remixers is, I want to hear this.
Sascha’s done so much m ore than Al has when it comes to variety, even today. Both have walked in circles lately, but Sascha didn’t do three bush albums in a row. He’s smarter than that.
Well, then you should check out Vile Evils. They’ve got a couple of remix singles out, and supposedly an album on the way, but it’s been delayed for about 2 years now.
Don’t know how to feel about this one. The lineup is more promising than the in-house Metropolis team feel of the last two remix efforts and they’ve picked some of the stronger songs for inclusion, but I’ve found KMFDM remixes of late don’t do anything radically different with the source material, which is sort of disappointing. Add louder synths here and there, change the metre of the tempo etc…I feel the interpretations found on most of the 90s singles often improved the original songs, gave them more power with noticably altered musical backings, like the Rules remix, or all of the MDFMK single.
Depends on the remixer, really. Like the usual ministry/revco remixes done by Clayton. They’re almost all slowed down, with a few “alterations”. KMFDM’s last remix album “Brimborium” had some original sounding stuff there. Combichrist is a pretty good remixer, and I already have the remix for Bait & Switch that he did. It was top-notch. These days though, rather than no-names, which KMFDM did on their Ruck-Zuck EP (I think), who else would you go with if you wanted remaining big names in the genre that have force behind their credientials. Ogilive being a prime example of that.
