I’ve been listening to a guy from Buenos Aires called Earzumba recently that while isn’t all that new, brings a distinctive South American flavor to electronic/collage/soundscapes. I only have so far his 2005 album SIMULANDO UN REFUGIO.
Like Liars for example. They are good and no one talks about them here. Is that new anymore? I don’t know.
Liars have been around for 10 years - about as long as Sunn O))) or Animal Collective. So they’re not really new. I saw them in concert about 4 years ago and they were pretty good but seemed kinda nervous and uncomfortable as the crowd was very rowdy.
el bueve grupo de Omar Rodriguez was a really good release… but to those not into him it’s just probably same old same old
the latestest “industrial” music band i fell for was probably imperative reaction and velvet acid christ and this is around 99, 2000 maybe.
Last “new” industrial band I got into was Combichrist. Not sure how much that says. Wasn’t sure when Liars first came out. Music in the 90s are considered classics now these days, so who really knows what’s new and old anymore, heh.
They’re not that new too but I really like
Black Moth Super Raibow
I don’t know if you guys know them.
Black Moth Super Raibow
Saw them open for the Flaming Lips a few years ago and have been a fan since. Psychadelic analog stoner pop. Side project Tobacco is good too.

Yes, I like some of their stuff. Good musicians.
I just got Street Sweeper Social Club (on sale for $3.99 at mp3.amazon.com).
So far so good.
Yeah I just heard Clap For The Killers, its delightful. Gonna have to buy this bitch soon.

I saw them last summer at a free concert in a drained pool in Brooklyn and they were brilliant. I guess it was the environment. Storm clouds brewing in the sky above them as they played. A packed crowd mostly there for them (they headlined) and they were playing in their home town.
They played a lot of stuff from ‘Drum’s Not Dead’ and it was just serene floating out over the audience as those black clouds loomed above them. The power and energy was incredible. And that lead singer has great stage presence. He’s like 7 ft tall! It was one of the best shows I’ve seen.

I saw them last summer as well when they opened for Radiohead (last may). They played a good bit from Drum’s Not Dead and their last one. Very short set though.

Fucking HALO.
I just scored legit digital copies of “Massive Corporate Disease” and “Degree Zero Point of Implosion” and I’m loving every second of it.
I just got Spinnerette from Brody Dahl, formerly of The Distillers. It’s OK - sounds like Distillers vs. Queens of the Stone Age. It’s sure as hell no Sing Sing Death House.

i was surprised to see that Jack Irons is playing drums in a band again
