New in here

Hi all,
new to this forum.
I’ve been checking out some discussions and this looks like a cool place to be.
I’ll let all you folks in USA know how the Ministry shows go like over here in UK…I’m really not too sure if I’m looking forward to them after some of the comments in here. I guess I’ll have to be open-minded, although some of the set-lists seem a little weird for a farewell tour.
Looking forward to chat in here,
regards to all, JA147

Welcome aboard, man (woman?).

Prongs is in fact a great place to be. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more intelligent, informed, and inane group of music afficionados anywhere else.

Ministry has definitely screwed over some of the older fans with the misleading press releases, but pronger reports state that the show seems decent, anyways.

Peace.

Yeah…seems like i bought tickets on the strengths of some very happy memories of shows way back when…I’ll give them a chance though.

I imagine I’ll still be a little pissed not to hear some the old classics! Aren’t we all?

No doubt, no doubt.

Yeah… I’m more than a little bummed out that Al totally decided to abandon everything '96-2003 (pre-'88 material was expected, but come on… no “Stigmata”?). But hey, I’ve got the Sphinctour DVD. I’m set. [:)]

My video of ‘In Case’ is still going strong!!!

Word UP.

Hey, welcome to the forum. Glad you joined in the discussion. Just curious, what’s your favorite Ministry songs/albums? What do you think of The Last Sucker? Have you seen them live before?

I’m not around much anymore, but extend warm welcomes to a fellow Cardiacs fan.

Cheers.

Jizzwad…nice one…not a lot scares me these days…been listening to music from near the edge of the abyss (and over) for too many years now!!

Regarding Jesu…Justin is an old, old friend. I have many tales of us getting ripped to the tits on all sorts ‘way back when’…my first Ministry/RevCo live experience was actually RevCos’ London Astoria gig in '91 where Godflesh supported. I took the photos that ended up on the SlateMan ep cover.

I think Justin’s work with Jesu is wonderful; if you listen hard there is a real pop sensibility to elements of the music, especially the more recent releases. Justin, and I don’t think he’d mind this, always has had an ear for a good tune and I think he’s really discovering how to express it in a guitar based scenario.

Do I like Jesu? Yes, indeed!

Live -
RevCo in '91.
Ministry in '92, '96, ‘99’, '03 & '06.
All gigs in London, '92 in Nottingham also.

‘Last Sucker’…nearly all good, but not too impressed with BCBell songs!

Fave songs/albums…‘Just One Fix’ - there’s a remix with Burroughs that is just on the money for me…
Live version of ‘Breathe’ on ‘In Case’ video is pretty good…
‘Khyber Pass’ has something about it…
…& I just can’t help myself…‘The Missing’ is in my all-time Top 20!!

Good to have you on board Jason, for many years your photos for the Slateman single were the only inkling I had of what Godflesh looked like live (At least until Hideaway came out anway). Never got the chance to see them perform unfortunately, for some reason on Puppy’s Last Rights tour the show I saw did not include them (visa problems?)[:(]

Yoyoyoyoyo ma honky!!

Where’s my welcome YOU BASTARDS!

Where’s my welcome YOU BASTARDS!

I distinctly remember giving you one…

But hell. Another one couldn’t hurt, right?

(Belated) welcome to Prongs! You won’t find a sadder/superior bunch of intellectually deranged audiophiles around!

And welcome of course to Jason

Hi all and thanks for the welcome.

I’l try to dig out some of the photos from wherever I’ve hidden them and post them in the next few weeks. As I remember, there’s quite a few of them.
I recall playing around with exposure times and stuff to get the movement ‘feel’.

The gig was cool…we arrived at the Astoria mid-afternoon to find RevCo already camped in their dressing room. I seem to remember there being 4/5 blow-up dolls filled with helium and floating around the ceiling. Various RevCos were applying chocolate sauce to various orifices…Connolly was quite cool, offering us various ‘items’ from his stash!!! RevCo as a band were all welcoming…perhaps that’s why some of my photos were a bit blurry!
Godflesh were good that night…they played nothing from Streetcleaner/Godflesh…just played new stuff…some seriously pissed Flesh Fans that night!

I think my abiding memory of the night must be after ‘Get Down’…Al (who had stood in one spot ALL night playing some mean geetar) walked past, said hi and fell right off the back of the stage! Just got up and carried on walking to dressing room.

A good night indeed.

Correct. I was looking forward to seeing them at the Milwaukee show.

I was fortunate enough to see them a few years later. However, their set was cut short because Justin threw his guitar down and stormed off stage. Always wondered what that was about.

Certainly wasn’t the crowd or anything negative happening on stage.
