Seriously though, this is quite a bizarre meet and greet turned photo opportunity. I wonder if Tom Jones ever listens to Angel Dust driving down the freeway in his Astin Martin or whatever it is that he drives.
Also, word on the ‘underground’ is that Faith No More will release a new album next year. Yes, I know it’s unofficial at this stage but…message boards are lighting up with “someone close to the band has said…” threads.
I dunno about FNM reuniting for a new album, their last few weren’t anything to write home about.
Understatement.
King For A Day had it’s moments but was for the most part a worrying hodge podge of half baked ideas and bland rock aesthetics with virtually none of the spark, dry wit or bite of the way superior Angel Dust and the majority of Album Of The Year was more or less phoned in by Patton with some of his laziest and clumsiest lyrics to date. More often than not it sounded like he wasn’t even trying.
They even admitted soon after breaking up that they had lost the magic so to speak and thought it best that they quit rather than go on just for the sake of going on.
This is nothing more than a desperate cash grab and a chance to relive some of the fanboy adoration they received in the early 90s. Patton was aiming for the spotlight with Peeping Tom and that flopped (apparently many of their club gigs were less than half full) and so I guess his raging ego is once again in need of being stoked. Where else is he going to turn but to his old stomping ground?
I was never a FNM fan. Mainly due to Patton, can’t stand that idiot. Pretty much anything he touches is total crappola in my book.
If this is a “money grab” or not makes zero difference to me. I don’t particularly care one way or the other if bands get back together to make $$$. It is their job and their respective right to do so. It is also my respective right not to participate by giving them my $$$.
