NEW CHRIS CONNELLY ALBUM

I dig chris… I dig shirley… the last i heard of her i think was on eric avery’s solo cd and she did a great job…
i’ll be buying it, having a coke and a smile and now i’ll shut the fuck up

I would like to second that Shirley Manson is indeed quite fetching.

i didn’t mean to imply that she wasn’t good looking, but i had some friends in college who obsessed over her which i never fully understood.

Even though he’s a guy I tend to think Marilyn is the better looking of the two Mansons, though the album should be good. I like some of Garbage’s work.

Garbage had some decent efforts mid 90s but never really appreciated them too much. As regards Shirley she seems to have a bit more skill than other popular women in the music business but I never fancied her, though I know people who do and are mad about her. Fair enough, to each his/her own.

Butch Vig is creepy looking

i never listened to garbage outside of their videos… and i never noticed her big “peepers” that she was apparently teased over.

i think i remember that article… or one like it… butch vig got tired of producing others people’s shit and did his own thing… good for him…

oh and I just saw connelly on the kmfdm 2002 dvd… wish i was at the show… rules is a great song

I like Garbage, but am more interested in hearing Chris and David Tibet (thought he changed it back?) belt one out.

The thing where David Tibet changed his name to David Michael didn’t last very long.

OK!

This finally arrived in the mail yesterday and I just got a chance to listen to it today.

VERY cool.
I dig this a lot.
I like the fact that the same drummer plays on this as The Episodes (Adam Vida according to the credits). This is has the same sort of jazziness that made The Episodes so cool and the same sort of more ambient airy feel. At times it reminded me of newer Neubauten (not exactly in the way it sounds but in a sort of confident approach and feel, if that makes any sense).

I highly recommend this one!

Shirley Manson? If that’s not the $1.00 space on the fucking The Price Is Right wheel, then I don’t know what is.

I had a HUGE thing for her back when Garbage came out in the 90’s. Her pale skin, make-up, red hair, and sexy dirty attitude. What more could you ask for?

Beauty?

in the eyes of the beholder.

Anyone else picked this up yet?
I’m digging it up and down the block.

Just got the new album, and it’s wonderful. Might actually be enjoying this a little more than The Episodes, and I love that album. Keep it up, chris!

One bit of confusion though. I could’ve sworn there being an actual tracklisting, but the version I got (itunes) is only four tracks. It’s the entire album, but it goes Arran, pt. 1, pt. 2, and pt. 2 for Forgiveness and Exile. Not a big deal, really. Just mainly wondering if it’s just an itunes thing for that, or it’s for everyone.l

mp3.amazon.com has the tracks listed that way, too.
Glad the digital version is out - I’ve been waiting for it, since I’m trying to minimize my purchases of physical cds.

Hmm…

The tracklisting for the CD that I have is:

1 - Arran

2 - Forgiveness & Exile

a - forgiveness and exile
b - clouds without pity
c - the surgery
d - the wallet
e - no myths or stars
f - of all seas
g - the slow motion birds
h - days between vision
i - i know what I've seen, and I know what is coming, and some of it will be quite beautiful...

I decided to put 4 index points on the CD just to make it a little easier, but basically “arran” is one song and then “forgiveness” is one long poem with different sections, the first section being “forgiveness & exile” …a little confusing but I kind of wanted the album to be listened to as a whole without “ordering” people to do so, that would be pompous…

How does it divide up, exactly?
I know it’s probably not that important, but I like to know these things.
Listening now - so far so good!
