^^What he said. If Connelly can talk shit, Al should be allowed his say.
Look, we were never going to get some bullshit Oprah talk show roundtable where Al, Paul and Chris share their feelings and make amends. If it hurts your butt so much that Al says Paul is a shitty bassist, then the book isn’t for you. You’ll probably fare better with Moby’s Big Book of Vegan Feelings and Weather Observations.[:)]
There are a lot of differences. Connelly’s overall take on Al seemed to be that they used to be friends, but drifted apart because of differing personalities and a few dosagreements. Al’s take was more along the lines of Connelly was always awful and he inexplicably let him be a hanger-on for a few years before he couldn’t put up with his worthlessness anymore.
I certainly wasn’t there, but I think I have a pretty good feel for which of those is more believable. I don’t hate Al, I just wish he’d try a little harder. This could’ve been a good book with some effort and an editor. Any of the last few albums could have been good if he’d put more into it than the same thrashy guitars.
Yeah, I don’t disagree. But Al has always been an “all or nothing” kind of guy. You’re either with him, or against him. It’s juvenile and douchy, but that’s Al.
I don’t know. I just figured it would be this way, so it’s not surprising.

Good point.
Acid, I guess that’s a trait to be found in most dictators/leaders.

I got this yesterday and I’ve read four pages in the Darkside chapter and he’s already slagged Barker twice.
once cause “Barker (and the rest of the band) didn’t care about william tucker dying and just wanted him to right more songs so they could all get rich” and then again because Barker had management take over his money so he couldn’t blow it all on drugs…
Is the whole book gonna be like this?
Late,
grmpysmrf
I have never read so much bullshit in all my life. Page after page of LiesLiesLies. What a complete and total wanker.
Yep Paul was just the bass player and not a very good one at that. Ha de fuckin ha ha. That’s why Minisistry rocks sooo hard these days. If I were Paul (and a few other people) I’d be calling my lawyer.
And by the way this awful pile of dogshit is floating around the net as a free epub, I didn’t pay a cent for it and nor should you.

You know how you all are saying Al use to be so cool and articulate. Maybe he was just mirroring Paul or someone else who is no longer in his life

Wow…Anyway, I think what angie say’s about the whole paul etc. thing sum’s it up the best,Al loved paul but after all that happened, which she’s honest about paul thinking al was going to die so he was trying to protect himself and family, then of course al doesn’t die and is totally hurt. So, the way he deals with it is by saying he always hated barker and chris (i think the revco book pissed him off) I I’m really enjoying the book and not getting the whole every story is him trying to prove how ‘badass’ he is thing? I’ve only read a few from Rape and Honey tours etc. which is in interviews at the time with him fighting neo-nazis.Big shocker William Rieflin went to high school with…El Duce? WTF? Explains why he did not drum on u.s. Revco 90 tour though

You should totally write about that in your book.[/reply]
I think going on tour with the Mentors was a big mistake. It was the point Revco went from having any musical credibility to crossing that line and having a stroll in the magical land of awful bands where the likes of the Mentors, Anal Cunt, Murder Junkies, Vaginal Jesus, etc. can be found.
