My roomate was carjacked

Last Saturday night I got a phone call telling me my roomate had been carjacked. A friend and she were made to lie on the ground at gunpoint by three men where they proceeded to rob them. They even ripped her jacket off her while she was lying on the ground. They managed to escape into some bushes and found someone who took them to a gas station to call police.

My roomate has bruises all over her neck and arm, and is pretty shaken up. This morning we saw her car on the news the end result of a high speed chase. It was cut in half after the robber crashed it, my friend’s jacket is seen hanging out of the car in one of the pictures. You can see the two car seats for her kids as well, I guess the thieves couldn’t figure out how to take those out. Seriously fucked up. Anyways they caught the one man who escaped on foot, so hopefully the other two will be apprehended soon.

[:(] that is horrible

Ain’t that a bitch and a half…

Hope she’s aight.

My father was killed in similar circumstances back in 1993 - although he wasn’t car jacked exactly.

He was getting out of his car when an ex girlfriend of his, who had previously claimed that he had fathered a child to her, walked up beside him and casually shot him in the head, then got in his car and drove off. He died instantly.

The woman was deemed mentally unfit for trial and (I believe) resides to this day in a mental institution in California somewhere.

Yes, life is precious.

Whoa. That is some crazy, fucked-up shit, man… my apologies?

Life is indeed precious. Beautiful. Fragile, too… Like a butterfly made of stained glass. Or something. One moment, it’s lazily drifting about, leaving the world in awe of its utter perfection, when BAM, it’s shuffled right the fuck off this mortal coil by God’s celestial sledgehammer.

Maybe I went a little too out there with this one…

My grandfather got carjacked, right down the street from his house. IIRC, the dude tried to sell the car to someone my grandfather knew.
Smooth move…

holy shit. i hate this stuff. pisses me off.

i saw her tags were gwinette. was she at the airport? east point isn’t a good area.

She was visiting some friends to go out to a club. She is doing much better, but has to get a new id, credit cards phones all that stuff which is a hassle on top of everything else. $125 to get what’s left of the car out of impound just to see if any of her personal affects are left [:(] Sorry to hear about your father Amlux, tht is really terrible. Skarekroe, did your grandfather at least get his car back?

sorry to hear about the jack.
i, unfortunately, nearly got killed at nineteen in my own apartment by a guy i knew who smoked too much pot couldn’t handle it in his brain i guess and went crazy on me.
had to go to court multiple times, and the guy got probation with “medical supervision”.
the detective who handled my case visited me afterwards many times, and took me on patrols with him, b/c i was interested in how the process worked and b/c i was freaking out at the drop of a hat. it did calm me down. but to this day, when i get that gut adrenaline rush, and think something ain’t right, i’m outta there so fast.
props to (some) cops.

sounds like you got anxiety from post traumatic stress

aside from that I am truly sorry to hear about your friends… people are fucked up… once the economy went it’s like morality and decency went out the window…
over the weekend a bunch of teens and a 20 year old went on a crime spree in a nearby town… they went house tohouse checking cars… if the doors were open they’d steal everything not tied down and then some, if the cars were locked they’d slash the tires… nevertheless the got caught… all high as kites and facing serious charges… people are fucked up.
