My new radio show

First time I’m ever DJing on real radio. My debut is this Saturday on 4/20 for a local radio station in SF called Radio Valencia. It’s on 89.7 FM but also podcast.

My show’s called Lava Lamps & 8-Track Theatre. [:)]

Thought to share about it here since this place feels kinda cool and thought it would be right up yer alley. I’m gonna be playing mostly obscure 70s stuff and weird sound effects. Ohh and my DJ name is “Nurse AnnaBella” lol.

I am planning to air bits from my Lou Reed Metal Machine Music quad 8-track lol.

Think I’ll listen to some early industrial today to get some ideas for a later show.

Excellent. good luck. is it a one off show or a full on regular program? if it’s a one off show, hopefully it turns into a reoccurring gig for ya.

It’s a full on regular program. My show will be on every Saturday morning. Not sure yet if I should do this every week or just twice a month. I’m gonna be on air 5 hours from now actually.

Made it through my first show in one piece. My next show’s gonna be much tighter and also they’ve extended my hours so I will be on from 4-8 am next Saturday.

My show really starts after the last DJ plays BOC and those strange waterfall sounds. Messed up on the cue at first. Sorry my first time ever on real radio. Because I got on a little late the ending gets cut out on the podcast.

I play mostly obscure 70’s psych, proto-metal mixed with vintage horror movie trialers… I know some here are prolly not really into that but come on, to me that’s real Heavy music. I don’t listen to mainstream stuff much. I can’t stand Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson tbh.

Made it through my second show this morning. Went very well.

Finally got around to editing my official podcast too. Sorry I posted the rough version of my first show. I’m sure some people here were like “WTF?”

I’m also getting ready to do an early Ministry powermix on Halloween. There letting me have an hour slot on Halloween afternoon and I’m gonna do an early Ministry mix live on the air mixing my With Sympathy, Twitch, and Everyday is Halloween 12" vinyl records. [blush][pirate][shocked][cool][;)]
