My new favorite Ministry song EVER...

(Aside from “Dream Song,” of course)

… Has GOT to be “A Walk In the Park.” Found it in a massive Ministry torrent the other day and I simply cannot get enough of that funkalicious bass. SHAME that this didn’t make it onto 'With Sympathy." Would’ve been REAL nice right where “Should’ve Known Better” was.

My favorite Ministry song is Stigmata, no funkalicious bassline there, its just a jackhammer to the face. I havent heard A Walk In The Park, i gotta track it down and have a looksee

Cool little instrumental, maybe wempathy can shed some light on this track. To me, it sounds like an idea that was never finished, and ended up as b-side fodder. Maybe this track and Same Old Madness in place of What He Say and She’s Got A Cause? Maybe in this order:

Effigy
Revenge
I Wanted To Tell Her
Work For Love
Same Old Madness
Here We Go
Say You’re Sorry
Walk In The Park
Should Have Known Better

This song evolved from Mark Pothier and Brad Hallen. They had the basics of this one when they were hired on during the WS sessions and it sprung out of that. Ian Taylor and Al went nuts with a razor blade and spliced it all together. I don’t think it was ever actually rehearsed or played as a “song”. It’s just a bunch of edits connected together.

That’s pretty cool, wempathy… and it makes a lot of sense now, because “A Walk In the Park” really reminded me of parts of KMFDM’s “Don’t Blow Your Top” album (especially the track “Tod Durch Bongo-Bongo”) from the first listen. It’s crazy how close this tape cut-up sounds to an actual jam session.

Much respect for the feedback!
