I think you can easily find most of my back catalogue for well under a dollar!! just sitting around in warehouses up & down the land sulking!
no-seriously-I saw “phenobarb” once on amazon market place for 1 penny!!!
Yeah, on the marketplace you can find a lot for dirt cheap. And if I remember right, I may have bought En Esch’s “Cheesy” for about that much, mainly paying shipping charges. And that wouldn’t be the only neither.

Yep. I snagged “Whiplash Boychild” for about five bucks (I forget where), “Cheesy” at some used video store for about the same, and the “Confidence” single from gohastings.com for a whole two cents.
Best two cents I ever fucking spent. [;)]
…By the way, Mr. Connelly, thank you EVER so much for “Stowaway.” It’s been an anthem of mine for quite a while.
I really should check out some Connelly music one of these days.
OOOh Watch out
I have no idea what it’s all about.
You need to be ready for it!
I remember when he played at the Fallout Shelter in Raleigh… must have been at least 13 yrs ago. My friends wanted me to go but I didn’t because the music was described as a little to tame for me. I might be into some of that now, though.
It’s more effective than NyQuil!!! LARGO is the same way (for the peeps that don’t know LARGO is Bill and Chris) but I spent a whole 6 bucks on it so I can’t sell it back!!
Sorry Dude. I loved your Book. Obviously liked you in REVCO, but damn, solo album nearly made me wreck my car!! You see at least with NyQuil the ads give you a hint. You SEE the people taking it IN BED. No such disclaimer exists on the Connelly solo effort. Sorry man. At least i didn’t say “you suck” like some other crass calouse people on the board. I know your solo stuff isn’t easy but it’s just not my type.
Late,
grmpysmrf
Uh oh, grmpy’s in “destroy your idols” mode. I wonder how long it is before every living member of Ministry is wary of Mr. Smrf?
I like what I’ve heard of Chris’ solo stuff. I remember wearing out my copy of the “Stowaway/Daredevil” vinyl back when I was a teenager and it’d just come out. I was a depressed kid and it was actually some of the only happy music I listened to. All three Wax Trax releases were good, though I’ll admit I lost track after that point. The single “July” is also freakin’ fantastic.
I think the solo stuff is pretty hit or miss up until the stuff with the bells. I like whiplash and can listen to it regularly, absolutely love phenobarb, just got shipwreck and it’s not clicking with me, blonde exodus is perfection, while seaside companion is good at points. But I can honestly say I really enjoy everything from blonde exodus to now. Seems like he’s really developed his sound now. So if I had to list his best work, i’d go with:
To be sure my stuff is not for everyone, Nyquil though…I never thought of it as particularly easy listening, however-you’ll enjoy the next album “Forgiveness & exile” it has it’s creepy moments
I don’t think I’ll do ministry inclined music again, I think there are enough people treading that path, which is good…
By the way-I’m surprised that no one has commented on the new Ministry / Chicago Blackhawks song…it’s on myspace…
it has inspired me to do one for the Glasgow Rangers
Anyway, Al is going to be in Chicago on Wednesday to “unveil” the new opus at a Blackhawks game
I’ve got that one too. I know what you mean. Between that, Stowaway and LARGO. I just thought NyQuil was a nice adjective to describe what you used to be involved in compared to now[:)] No Hard feelings. Hey if you want, you can come to my classroom and tell me I’m a shitty teacher and how much cooler i was as a student[:)]

Fanservice! This made me all giddy and excited for a few seconds. thanks.
i undertsand where yer coming. i saw a few in store’s you had done for Blonde exodus. you had us all sit down while you played, and it was great. i went there just to get some shizz signed and all that, but i ended up buying 2 records off you and loving blonde exodus. a great disc, to be sure.
OK, I’m way behind everyone else but I just finished the book. It was a quick and fun read though after a while I got a little bored of the “get fucked up / play live / have hotel (or tour bus) antics” wash and repeat ad infinitum. It sounds like some of my own rock antics turned up by about 100 percent and that’s not really a time in my life I have much interest going back to.
It’s interesting though, back a few years back I would have given anything to be where Chris was when he was there but now, especially after reading the book, I’m happy to have enjoyed it from the outside.
I absolutely loved the book. Read it in like 3 days. Fucking awesome. Totally hilarious. Spinal Tap cliches meet 90’s Industrial Metal.
As others have said, I think Chris seems to be “above it all” because he really was an outsider from a completely different cultural environment thrust into a new situation that would have anyone’s head reeling.
I always saw Chris is a peripheral member of Ministry (never really listened to the Cocks—I’m 22 so discovering this shit after the fact—or his solo stuff), but now I see he was integral to the band for a point.
My favorite era is Filth Pig – Dark Side – Animositisomina, but I doubt stories from that time period would have been quite as exciting.
The book motivated me to delve more into the Cocks and Chris’ solo stuff. I really like the song “Stowaway” but I have to hear more. That seems to be his only real music video on youTube.
That may be the only solo video Chris ever made. Perhaps he’ll pop in here and let us know.
There should be lots of RevCo, Ministry, and Pigface live vids, though.
EDIT: there’s a ton of material of him and The Bells up there. I was disappointed though to find that the guy playing a Neil Diamond song on piano was a DIFFERENT Chris Connelly.
i read it a while back so i’m a little distant from memory on it… but did chris ever tell the story on what al did with a lydia lynch idea that pissed him off so? i know he alluded to it early in the book, but i forget if it was ever decribed in full later on
