There’s not much is there. At least nothing much that’s floating my boat.
Yeah, Faith No More are putting out something but I’ll wait and see before getting all excited. Could REALLY go either way.
Another year, another…YAWN…will Tool or won’t they dilemma. At this point I’m gonna go with won’t as they haven’t even hit the studio yet and may not do so for “a little while yet”. But…YAWN…you never know.
I hear NIN are cookin’ up something but at this early stage it’s all speculation so…
So I guess my list for 2015 looks a little like -
Napalm Death
Tool
Nurse With Wound
Aphex Twin
Animal Collective
Kanye West
Massive Attack
NIN (?)
Prurient
Om
Puscifer have “no plans” to record anything in the near future.
Maynard (believe it or not) is actively writing for new Tool album - and has been for some time.
Still…it’s like waiting for the Jurassic period to become the Cretaceous period with those guys.
I forgot there’s a new album in the works haha. I’m more irritated that I’m missing Primus with Danny Carey and Herb splitting drum duties on New Years Eve more than the wait for the new album.
A few I forgot to mention:
En Esch
GWAR
MDFMK
USSA
Grimes
The Electric Hellfire Club
Emperor
There will be a ton of awesome new music in 2015. New Sleaford Mods & new Amon Tobin are what I know are coming that I’m excited for.
The other thing I’m super excited about is Jack White’s label Third Man is reissuing the Melvins Atlantic LP’s on vinyl in 2015. Knowing his love of vinyl & the Melvins these will be beautifully packaged and maybe remastered? Either way I’m chuffed as I don’t have these on vinyl and now I won’t have to pay obscene amounts of money to have them or small amounts of money for crappy bootlegs.
Sorry for not specifying that the only bands out of that list that have confirmed anything are En Esch and EHC. I believe Universal still owns the rights to “MDFMK #2”
Just got an e-mail about a new Carter Tutti album coming in February.
“‘CARTER TUTTI PLAY CHRIS & COSEY’ will be available to download and is released on CD and double Vinyl and features eight brand new reinterpretations and re-workings of classic Chris & Cosey songs from the 1980s and 1990s.”
