Levitation is their one and only album with Ginger Baker…I really di that album a lot…Lost Johnny with Lemmy on vocals is about as good as it gets…
I’m kinda puzzled as to why they even scheduled this tour, everything i’ve read about Lemmy’s health makes it sound like they might never tour again. He should at least get back to full health before planning any tours.

I imagine that’s down to Lemmy. He’s a road man, and probably thinks he’s letting people down. What he needs to realise is that he’s nearing 70, so it takes a little longer to heal.

Yeah, i feel so sorry for him, it’s sad but he may never be in the kind of robust health he needs to tour again. It sounds pretty serious from what i’ve read, he has diabetes and a pacemaker i think. Standing in front of those stacks blasting out rock n’roll probably wouldn’t be such a hot idea when you have a pacemaker. [:(]
Lemmy-era Hawkwind is cool. But be careful with later stuff because they seem to have crawled up their own asses on more than one occasion.
I really liked their “unusual” material, which is what I assume you were referring to. Most notably the 1993 album It Is The Business Of The Future To Be Dangerous, which is by and large an Orb styled ambient album. I remember when that came out and the die hards were howling and gnashing their teeth like die hards so often do.
Space Bandits and The Chronicle Of The Black Sword - both later era releases - are also very worthy if you just give them a chance.
To be honest I was always a bit iffy about their so called “classic” period. A lot of it seems messy and unfocused. But maybe that’s the point?

I hope Lemmy gets well soon.
I hope they find a cure for these here rickets.
just saw a large poster for them playing here with rob zombie and black label society in may. so maybe lemmy is on the mend.
