I’m embarrassed that i actually like “Shout at the Devil.” And the opening riff to “Dr. Feelgood” was cool, if that was them. But yeah, no comparison to the Joke. No sir.

Apparently MC really liked Killing Joke and were fans of their early stuff, which is pretty amazing considering.

There are varying opinions regarding it’s quality tho’. The leaked mp3s are supposed to be promo versions - inferior quality.
Some fans are saying it’s brilliant. Alot are saying so-so. A bit like Extremeties Dirt mixed with Killing Joke '03 (which wasn’t that great btw). However, there are meant to be a couple of brilliant songs on the album, like The Lightbringer, the title track and a track called Walking With Gods. Meant to be very simplistic, angular post punk stuff, which is promising.
Hopefully it’s a good one.

Killing Joke '03 (which wasn’t that great btw).
I loved it.
The lyrics weren’t always that great, though (ASTEROID!!!).
Killing Joke '03 definitely had it’s fair share of highlights (loose cannon, asteroid, house that pain built, dark forces) but was guilty of being lyrically weak and repetitive. Production was uninspired. And all that America bashing and ‘the government is a conspiracy’ crap is so ham fisted. They can and have done so much better. You’d think they’d never heard of subtlety.
And here’s hoping they NEVER do another song like ‘You’ll never get to me’ EVER again. I thought they’d never top ‘Me Or You’ for sheer ugly awfulness, but miraculously they did.
