You paint a very broad picture in your post. Perhaps if you spend some time on this forum, you’ll realize that we do like Ministry and support them. We could just blow sunshine up each other’s asses all day, but that’s not how it is. We discuss, debate, bitch, praise, whine - everything a forum is made for. Because some people don’t like Rantology doesn’t mean they’re bad Ministry fans. It’s like saying you’re proud to be an American, then chastising someone for criticizing the President. We’re gonna criticize our favorite artists from time-to-time. (Also consider that we have a couple of trolls who waste their existence here, so you could be reading some banter that really means jack shit).
There’s plenty of good things said about Ministry here, and you’ll see that if you hang out longer. Welcome to the board, but don’t jump the gun so quickly. If we weren’t fans, we wouldn’t be here.

'Halloween Party released under the name Pink Anvil in 2003. See my post in the other thread about this. I don’t know why no one has mentioned this because even though it was technically released while he was still in Ministry, I doubt these people know about it.
I have to say that I agree with hugeminstryfan a bit.

Well, aside from the live tracks and 2 others, everything else was re-worked on. I know he didn’t spend 5 minutes on each track - a few months were spent on this.
Think of it this way though: he could have put out a Greatest Fits II without adding anything new for the Ministry audience. That’s all that it seems was needed for the compilation. Instead, he chose to take a different, and what I think, a better route. Especially considering he already has the Revco and Ministry albums to work on. Seems if Al didn’t care, he would have put out a Greatest Fits II to please certain people. But he does care and spent a while on this.
As far as the live tracks - wait until the next tour is over. There will probably be a DVD and CD which will come out. I am saying probably because I don’t know if this will happen or not, but the demand is there for these. They did record most shows (if not all), visual and audio, on the last tour.
New Order, as someone stated here, is releasing yet another Best Of. That will be one of many they already have. Alice in Chains has a couple with nothing special on them, etc.
Give me some effort on a compilation, rather than none. I’d take that any day.
My problem is with the price more than anything. I wouldn’t be surprised if New Order’s was under $19 for two discs as opposed to $19 for one.
People on here just have high expectations of Ministry, and this is understandable.

I think that I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m more of a synth/drum machine guy than a guitar/live drummer guy. Not that I don’t like anything that has guitar and live drums (or guitar + drum machine) because I do, it’s just that I like the other stuff better I’d say.

i think most people on here prefer old ministry. and that is fine - they have a lot of history. not every ministry fan will like all their releases. most bands who have been together for decades have a division amongst what people like and don’t like.
unfortunately with ministry, seems most fans from psalm 69 days simply do not care about them anymore. not many would even think they were together. at least we are all here debating the new compilation. if we didn’t care, we wouldn’t be here.

english isn’t my native language either. what i meant is well, there’s alot of bitching, yes, but hey, maybe it’s because new ministry releases aren’t up to the level to their best work? it’s just like with almost every band, so bitching won’t disappear. when ani/hotm were released, there were the bitching posts, but then again, the same people agreed that it was much better than dsots. it’s just like any forum. and this board is pretty much calm and quiet. i’m here for what, maybe couple of years and still i have yet to see some big flame wars and stuff.

“No W” is just a shittier, less industrial and more metal version of “NWO”.
The intro to “Wrong” and the intro to “Thieves” are similar.
Another TV song (“WTV”)
“Bloodlines” is a lame-ass wannabe “So What” with some blurred ass bass line that fucking BLOWS! My god this song is such a stinker!!! And those lyrics…
Almost every damn song is speed metal ala “Hero” with TERRIBLE lyrics, worse than any other Ministry album. And it all sounds so dated right away because it blatantly references this time period with Bush again and again.
This album is worse than every other, except for With Sympathy and possibly DSOTS, haven’t decided. The only redeeming tracks are “World” “WTV” and “Worm”.

Though I love DSOTS. The lads were not in great shape making it, but still as far as Ministry experimentation goes, its the best. Id love another DSOTS but that aint gonna happen I guess. I remember before HOTM came out Al described it as more experimental or stranger or something like to that extent than Animositisomina was so then when it did come out it was “What the fuck!”
