No prob. With Sympathy would’ve been better if it had the songs other than Revenge on there. Maybe he wouldn’t have called it an abortion. Here’s Same Old Madness from the same show but I think you guys might have heard it already
Spirited show but the recordings here have somehow been sped up and are about 1/2 step sharp and the tempos are about 5% faster than they’re supposed to be.
I’ve got the slowed down versions and they sound a lot better.

Actually, when I received them they were too fast. I had to slow them down and pitch correct them. So whatever source material is being used was recorded too fast to begin with. I’ll see if I can find a new hosting site. My old one is kinda f’d up.
So why’d these songs never get released? Was it a rejection from arista or Al?
There were a lot of songs that never got released, usually because they’d get purged from the live set by newer songs and never got played again…usually by consensus of the band. Songs like Love Change and America were played out less than half a dozen times but just so happened to both be on the Detroit show. I was surprised when Overkill wasn’t recorded for WS since it was probably the only song played at every show up to and including the WS tour. IOW…it was never purged from the live set but it was never recorded either…until years later.
After some listening I’ve concluded that the versions in the youtube links have been time and pitch corrected. I put a few of these on an old share server and even, I think, sent a few discs out. A couple of the fade outs exactly match the versions I fixed so it’s possible that these are the ones I fixed. If not, they’re pretty close.
Thanks for the info (as always). Can you maybe send 'em to Bisquit or Afra here and relaunch the “Song of the Week/Month”?
P.S. Did the “official” song title end up being “Overkill” or “Just Kidding”? I usually see it referred to as Overkill but IIRC a good number gigs had it introduced as Just Kidding.
Quick question for Wemp (or anyone who would know)
There are two songs that never show up from 83 (although the lyrics are accounted for on this site)
Let’s Be Happy
The Game is Over
Any info on these?
Dunno. I wonder who supplied those lyrics?
Hey wempathy, do any high quality studio versions of these WS era songs exist?
I can’t recall any studio cuts that are out there that haven’t been at least circulated freely, except for the 2 that EP references… if you count those.
