Morals

Testing ones morailty is always interesting. (though I dislike the term ‘morals’, I prefer ‘values’. ‘Morals’ has righteousness plastered all over it and the people who always harp on about morals are usually idiots.) From someone who has studied Sociology, I feel many of these questionnaires could be improved upon: some questions need more elaboration to avoid indifferent or frustrated reactions. Others need larger scales for the answers. I took a few of them and found I was largely in line with liberals. Seemingly liberals outway conservatives 3-4 in the number of them taking the questionnaires. Interesting, I thought conservatives would be jumping at it when they saw the word ‘morals’. The surveys are from universities in South Carolina and Virginia. They need their Sociology departments brought up to date.

Here’s one from Harvard: (though you dont get feedback straight away, you have to email someone for it.)

This one is better as it provides vignettes/scenarios that test your reaction, instead of asking questions like: On a scale of 1-5, how moral are you?

Sorry about no proper links above (cant seem to edit it right) so here they are:

I took a few of these in some philosophy classes and as part of a psychiatric evaluation. Meh, whatever.
