sadly, I don’t kid:
searched under “latest releases” from ministry
edit: tried to put the pic in, but it appears too large. it’s a terrible james bond spoof.

Repacking the same stuff over and over again with terrible cover art?
Yep, Ministry’s a Cleopatra band now for sure.
Erm…why is the Photoshop’d ‘Al Bond’ standing INSIDE of the gun barrel? Silly designer.

^ lol good point…
This is atrocious…
Fucking Al… this is just pathetic. As humorous as it can be, there is also a lot of sadness mixed in. Barker jumped ship at the right time.
On a side note, did anyone else notice that when Paul left that the over all sound of Ministry kind of lightened up. It went from dark and menacing to just light and hokey. I mean it’s more metal but lost the edge. Seems like Barker influenced the mood of the music. just wondering if anyone else noticed.
I don’t need to hear a single minute of this abomination to hear it in my mind. Overbearing tinny drum programming with no depth, guitars and vocals that drown out every other subtlety that might (doubtfully) be in the mix. Perhaps if there’s anything positive than can be gleamed from the absolute lowpoint the Ministry camp currently stands in it’s that future releases should be more promising because the bar’s been set so. very. low.

I’m guessing ur new on here. If so welcome. If not, sorry for mistaking you. Yes, everyone on here agrees that Paul leaving was the beginning of the end for Ministry. HOTM wasn’t a bad album but then they kept it in that direction and Ministry wasn’t exactly known for putting out the same album twice(or three times for that matter). I’m not gonna get into it any further. The subject of Paul leaving is a rather old topic and of course we all wish he’d come back. At least for a reunion tour
Flesh & Blood would have been a better Ted Nugent song to cover. It’s very Ministry-like.
Guess the first covers album didn’t suck enough. [:|]
Even this guy at least had SOME dignity.

[laugh] infinity.
I honestly can’t believe it.
Let’s just rationalise this.
Think of the countless hours he’s spent enlisting new musicians, engineers and cohorts to write the same music, over and over and over again… and now he’s not even bothering, he’s just re-re-re-releasing covers and re/mis-interpretations of his old songs.
You’d think perhaps all this energy would’ve been better expended upon finding new musicians who actually DID have talent, who did possess some autonomy, and contributed to Ministry’s continued evolution.
Instead, it just seems like he’s reduced to ringing in a bunch of semi-talented blow-ins who just acquiesce to his shitty demands. He’s become totally insular and is just stuck in his ivory tower and clearly does not give a shit any more.
Just insanity. What happened to the FLA collaboration? He’s still got it in him. He just doesn’t seem to really fucking care any more. Burnout from all the bridges burnt, so to speak?
What’s so bad about this? They’re doing a vinyl edition of Every Day Is Halloween: Greatest Tricks, with an improved title and cover.

Sums up everything that needs to be said.
The really sad part of it is that he probably believes his cult ‘celebrity’ status hs some sort of Pavlovian attribute and that by merely slapping his idiotic face on some shitty covers package the masses will begin salivating.
Awful.
I’m really excited to hear Al’s new take on “The Dick Song” - I hope he re-records that one for his album!!! [cool]
Maybe Al thought that since the overwhelming response to cover up was so positive that he didn’t have any choice but to do undercover. It’s not his fault. He’s just giving the masses what they want.
Late,
grmpysmrf
The funny part is, I’m surprised he didn’t do a DOUBLE-covers album even then. Which has got to be a first in history, if he did it.
