There is an official Music Video for “What About Us”. That’s how I got into Ministry because I saw it on FUSE.
There is also the straight footage of them performing the song during the robot carnival scene in A.I. so I’m guessing either or.
Good question though I never knew there was a VHS promo for that song.
Great song btw marred only slightly by Ty Coon and also this piercing static sound in the chorus which boils my eardrums (Al’s tinnitus had set in by this point and it has the ‘Animositisomina’ style mixing…)
I know that there is an official music video for What about us. This video is available on the internet but in poor quality.
Is this the video is on this videotape? That’s what interests me.
And why were the video was not released officially? But like other music videos haven’t been published as “No W”, “LiesLiesLies” etc.
These are the ones I’m aware of. Did they not make any videos for Animositisomina?
Revenge
Same Old Madness
Over The Shoulder
Stigmata
Flashback
Burning Inside
The Land Of Rape And Honey
Jesus Built My Hotrod
N.W.O.
Just One Fix
Lay Lady Lay
Reload
Bad Blood
What About Us (never seen this myself)
No W
Lies Lies Lies
I have the promo VHS. It contains a c.d with the Greatest Fits version, and an edited version of the song.
I’ve never done a side by side comparison of the vhs & above url, but they seem more or less like the same cut. Aside from the url being ultra low quality…

I cant find the post, but I thought i had asked Gerda on the forum about animositomina having a video. I think she mentioned that a treatment was written, but it was never produced…Anyone want to try to find that post??

most of all the above is on “Tapes of Wrath” except same old madness, revenge, what about us, no w and lies lies lies.
It might’ve got lost. Or perhaps it’s bc Warner Bros doesn’t own the rights to it.

Yeah, they were still on Waxtrax when that video came out.
I don’t know who owns all those old Waxtrax videos. Sure would be nice to see the Black Box vids come out on DVD.

TVT owned the wax tax catalogue. I think wax tax is in limbo now with ownership since TVTwent belly up.

A lot of those artists had different deals. That’s one of the main reasons that was cited why WaxTrax went up in the first place – a lot of the artists went to the majors, and WaxTrax took the hits.
TKK for example, their early work is pretty much owned by Rykodisc at this point, which is why they’ve been re-released twice so far. Once in the mid 90s, and again about six years ago.
Ministry’s stuff circa 1981/1984/1985 is supposedly owned by Al, but everything else is owned by Warner.
Front 242 pretty much owns all their old material. Same for Lead Into Gold and KMFDM.
The person that I had in mind to digitize the video, yelled at me for something unrelated. and long story short, i don’t talk to stupid bitches. Its the way of the world.
I’ll keep looking for someone to upload it, but have been pretty busy.
Would filming it with a HD cam be better than nothing, meanwhile?
if anyone would like to find someone in the S.F area to transfer it, send me their contact info via p.m.
