Ministry - Thunderstruck (Made Famous by AC/DC)

Uh,

“Huh, what i was going on about guy a couple post up…”

YEEES, I realize that… to quote you “if you read the post…” I said: “A funny counter-example…”

It’s just a story I was telling. Not telling you off, or saying you were doing the same thing.

Seriously dude, relax. You’ll live longer.

It’s just a music forum… and people bitch on here… boo hoo.

Yeah, reissues with long lost bonus tracks would be dope as fuck!

But as much as I want this to happen, I fear what is in store for us is unfortunately,

more industrial-butt-rock [:(]

Wounded Bird released a new run of LORAH CDs a few years ago (that or they got their hands on some dead stock), but I never saw or heard of a Twitch or FP re-issue.

1002

I keep seeing copies of FP and twitch with a sticker that says flashback on them and they’re also hella cheap, $6.99 to be exact. A reissue is the only guess Ive got considering these aint in the used section in the stores

I’ve got the flashback twitch but I haven’t seen the flashback filth pig…

Does flashback Twitch sound remastered?

No. I even A/B’d them and I saw no vast difference. Others may say otherwise, I’m no audiophile but they sound similar.

Okay, ‘dumbass’ i realise it’s a music forum that why i’m going on about a band i like with other like-minded indivduals. I’m quite relaxed, just exchanging ideas about a topic that there is NO press about (I mean a possible NW album) anywhere else. Trust me i frequent this place as a cure for a lull-period in my day.

As far as a LORAH re-issue, I don’t believe those were offical, as only a few months ago did AL let out he reaquired the rights and WILL fill up with bonus material!

"a few months ago did AL let out he reaquired the rights and WILL fill up with bonus material! "

Fantastic!

Al IS Ministry. Ministry was better as Al/Paul, but with or without Paul anything with Al on it can be Ministry.

There are a few reasons I think Al is a jackass and a piece of shit:

-Lying. False Advertising. Cu Latour was fraudulently promoted. Admittedly, knowing that I wasn’t going to get a greatest hits, I enjoyed the show. It was a good metal show with Meshuggah opening and 4 classics (even with Burt they sounded good). I left before they did the Cover Up songs, so to me it wasn’t that bad of a way to go out, IF IF IF they had promoted it that way. I joined this forum before the tour started because I was so excited about it.

-Three. 3!!! albums of stupid lyrics and samples about Bush. How can you make songs more annoying than loading them with samples of a stupid redneck talk about oil? Al was beating the shit out of a dead horse (W) while beating the shit out of his own reputation and brand name. I really wouldn’t have minded those albums at all if not for the stupid artwork, lyrics and puns about Bush. Wouldn’t have been my favorite Ministry albums, but they wouldn’t have left such a bad taste.

-Cover-Up.

Really though, to me it just boils down to lying. I hate liars. I don’t mean like little stupid lies, just lies that are deceitful. I can take an artist putting out bad albums but not willingly ripping people off. To promote something one way, sell expensive tickets, including overpriced VIP tickets and give people exactly the opposite of how you promoted it is really, really shitty. I just can’t stress that enough. If a business did that, I’m pretty sure they would be sued. Hell, I bet a class action lawsuit in regards to that tour would have some legs in court.

The funniest part about this whole rant is that I didn’t even pay for a ticket to CULatour! My friend won 2 on the radio.

Yeah, you know killface Tulsa was’nt even on the tour list but i pestered Mrs. J. about it enough that she booked cains (she even told tulsans on the PA to thank me) Then, i see the reviews like everyone else, was so disapointed that i chose to stay home and bicker with my GF (I tricked her into thinking that i chose a night with her over my fav. bands final show) See in the end i’m mostly excited about a ‘new’ album with songs i’ve never heard from '85-99 than i am about an album of new songs '10-11. Though, the bush thing really dates it (esp. now) what i think about also was lyrically were was he going to go? He could no longer beat the decaying horse with songs about/or repacutions from drug use . So, i think at the time, being that bush seemed as though this evil figurehead that creative artistic people could vent about, It was a good idea and being that he admitted that it was partially Jello’s idea, letting ministry go out with some respect not unlike Dead Kennedy’s or Crass. It just happens though after 8 yrs. of it being shoved down our throats the gen. public, even those who hated bush, were tired of hearing about it. In the end even AL admitted he felt that way about it (hence, Cover Up).

p.s. good to see another Tulsan is still apart of prongs!
plus, guy’s i know my spelling is awful it’s just late and i could’nt be ‘arsed’ to fix it all [:|]

Lyrically, where was he gonna go, you ask? Well, honestly, I thought Animositisomina had okay lyrics. Nothing fantastic, but okay. And really, when they are cryptic, they are way more intriguing. Even if I don’t know exactly what they are about, it’s still great that it is open to interpretation.

That’s what art is about, isn’t it?

My problem with the albums were just the mere fact that it was years of generally the same thing. Palm mute, play loud, bush sample, solo, done. Cover Up was just a waste. There was near zero perfect of progression. He did Mole (which I like), then just decided to either slow it down down (Sucker), or get retarded fast (Blood). But in reality, the only actual differences there were really the contributors. Very small difference in musically quality though. New album probably is what the solo album was supposed to be (which has been real quiet since that Voices sample).

Al lied about Iraq having weapons of mass destruction

Wait, no, Al lied about Ministry playing the entirety of Twitch last tour

This track is a lot better then the stuff Al has put out in the last few months…This version Al has come up with is across between twitch and last sucker sound wise to me…Does anybody else think so? …Pre With Sympathy,With Sympathy,Twitch and 12 inch singles era for me is the Best Ministry sound wise…It hasnt and most likely never will return… I dont care much for alot of the Paul era Ministry…Al just doesn’t have it in him to make a great sounding record anymore… :frowning:

See, i have’nt been able to hear this ac/dc cover where are you guy’s finding it (the original link won’t work for me) I’m guessing all saw the front line post about the co-headlining tour with re-united legendary band? I’m hoping it’s al and paul with mikey but even if it’s just al and mikey i would be cool with that. Honestly i think (music wise) that was one of the worst parts of blood/sucker was Tommy’s generic playing you know. Man, just thought about this what has Bill been up to? i’ve heard no news about r.e.m., not that i look for it, but what if it was a proper reunion with al,paul, mikey, bill and duane ,my fav ministry keyboardist, besides wempathy of course!

You guys are getting way too excited.

Thanks, Rev. Is it just me or does it sound like this song is in the wrong key? It seems to be in a higher register than it should be, giving the song and almost…happy feel.

Thunderstruck is also on their myspace

I don’t know where thunderstruck is on their myspace page… voices in my head was there. It didn’t sound too bad. if he does an album like the sample of voices it should be a nice little album… alot slower than the last 3 albums
