ministry & revco to tour in 2006 :)

blabbermouth reports: MINISTRY and its offshoot project the REVOLTING COCKS will be teaming up for a summer 2006 U.S. tour. More information will be made available during the coming months.

I wish I could say I was interested in this. Ten years ago maybe, but now…

Aaah the memories!

So is Phildo still involved with Revco or not? I thought the album had been finished in 2004, and now we hear about Gibby Haynes getting involved?

I hope Al didn’t revamp the whole album just because a few geeks on the internet didn’t like Prunetang. That’s even more pathetic than letting a record label force you to put out an unlistenable Synth Pop album. Revco is just supposed to be some querky off shoot band with albums full of nothing but filler anyways.

And since it mentions that Ministry AND Revco are touring together, does that mean we’re getting another Ministry album in 2006? And what is up with Lard?

I also have to wonder if there is going to be another Skatenigs album. The last album wasn’t very good, but I’d definitely be interested in hearing some new stuff from them.

Well, we know for sure that Al plans to record one more Ministry album (it was two more at one point, but that seems to have changed). I don’t mind the idea of the RevCo album potentially being revamped. If “Prunetang” was any indication of what was to come, it’s a welcome change.

What’s weird about a possible Ministry/RevCo joint tour is that Ministry used to play RevCo songs during their set anyway, so they might as well perform one long set (there wouldn’t be a set change anyway). I’d prefer to see a separate RevCo tour, even if it meant waiting a little longer for either tour. Don’t know how cost-efficient that would be for Al, but I never had the chance to see RevCo’s notorious 1990 tour, so I would prefer seeing a RevCo show as its own entity. Of course, I’m not going to bitch if a Ministry/RevCo tour DOES happen. I’m not that crazy! Looking forward to Al-related activity either way.

How many people would turn up for a Revco only show in 2006 though? Especially considering the lineup is almost completely different from last time.

Good point. It would almost have to be an ‘all-star’ lineup (Connelly, Barker, Acker, which wouldn’t happen), and even then, it would only be a small club tour. Wishful thinking, but I’ll take live RevCo any way I can get it.

Pretty much the same people who keep seeing Pigface every year, I imagine.
