Only ONE of the above suggestions is in the realm of possibilities.

Leper would be a good opener.

I’d like an 1 hr and 40 min version of Dead Guy plz kthnxbai…

Is this something that has actually been proposed by Al?

I have a feeling that, even if he did have a tour where he put songs open to “fan voting,” he’d still find some way to ignore the public will and just play whatever he wanted to play.

I remember when David Bowie had a tour that was supposed to play out like that. Scads of fans called in to the related hotline requesting [url https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyQxTWDLZ8o]“The Laughing Gnome”, but of course Bowie wouldn’t consent to play it. There was even a campaign called “Just Say ‘GNOME’” trying to get people to call in to the hotline a ridiculous number of times per day.

Leper would be a good opener.

THIS.

I’d say Pon-3 will be right at least once. My set list has potential, but maybe replace some of the good songs with “Double Tap” “Permawar” and maybe a couple other newish tracks. And I don’t understand why some are hoping for RevCo songs…

I’ll go even further out on a limb…how about a good ol’ 45-minute rendition of “Spahn Dirge” for an encore?

That was Skinny Puppy (though “Rabies” was produced by Jourgensen).

Honestly, I’m open to ANYTHING different than the last 4 tours.

I really was excited when they initially said they’d do the new album front to back. But it’s not been mentioned again since June, so I’m fairly certain that idea died 5 minutes after Al said it. It would be cool, though.

Basically just take 2012’s setlist and strike off 3 to replace with a few of the new tracks (something lame like “Fairly Unbalanced” and “Perfect Storm”) and you’ll have this next tour’s setlist.

I really hope I’m wrong.

But I’m not.

  19. Jesus Built My Hotrod
  20. an extremely long version of Work For Love before Al leaves the stage laughing hysterically.

This is the setlist of “epically ghey proportions” that I am expecting to hear at Soundwave later this month.

Let’s Go
Rio Grande Blood
Permawar
Perfect Storm
Double Tap
Life Is Good
Khyber Pass
United Forces
Senor Peligro
No W
Stigmata
Relapse
Change Of Luck
Roadhouse Blues
Just One Fix

I’d like to be proven wrong. But then again I’d like to wake up every morning surrounded by naked Russian teen internet models.

So…

Yeah dude…I would say that is a good guess. I’ll be there in May and really hope for something not like that setlist.

That was Skinny Puppy (though “Rabies” was produced by Jourgensen).

Oh I know, I was just trying to think of something Al was remotely involved with that might be an ‘out of leftfield’ addition to a setlist. Something like a Puppy quasi-cover would blow my mind, not just because it acknowledges other creative forces than Al, but because it seems to be inspired by a different choice of drugs than his current chemical muses. Spahn Dirge just has more of an ‘acid’ vibe to it than a heroin or alcohol feel.

But as you suggest, even hoping for something mildly ‘out of leftfield’ might not be a good idea.

HAIL TO HIS MAJESTY (PEASANTS)

Roadhouse Blues

They didn’t even play that when Burton Bell was on the tour and it would’ve made sense to do so.

^Never?

I did hear quite a handful of covers on that tour as I recall. “Just Got Paid”, “Under My Thumb”, “What a Wonderful World” . . .

I don’t recall specifically if they did “Roadhouse Blues” but it seems like one that would’ve made the rounds.

They played Roadhouse Blues on 4/2…
