Ministry official 2006 lineup

Joining Uncle Al on the Ministry tour this summer will be Paul Raven (Killing Joke) bass, Tommy Victor (Prong) guitar, Mike Scaccia (Rigor Mortis) guitar, and Joey Jordison on drums. Stay tuned for the official Revolting Cocks tour line-up.

Not surprised with the lineup but how about keys?

They don’t need keyboards anymore, remember?

Synths would ruin their super hardcore thrash metal biker image.

All they have now is some faggot in the back triggering cliched samples…

Dude, there’s more keyboard on “Houses…” than on “Filth Pig,” “Dark Side…,” and “Animosotisomina” combined.

that’s

cliched samples…

Actually I think it seems like a pretty good lineup, minus the fact that they really do need someone back there on keys and synths. I mean, I dunno about you guys but I’m really hoping that with Al and RevCo touring together that we might have a better than normal chance of hearing some good old favorites (i.e. Twitch era, etc)…

And another thing… Is Mrs. J going to be getting up there and doing her usual prance and dance thing this time around?

Peace!

Krowe

Without a doubt. When I hear ‘biker image’, I think of Stainless Steel Providers, not Houses.

Launch Radio Networks reports: SLIPKNOT’s Joey Jordison has been confirmed as the drummer for the touring lineup of MINISTRY, which will kick off a 60-date North American trek on May 6. It has been rumored for months that Jordison would take advantage of his time off this year to play with the industrial pioneers. Jordison had toured as a guest drummer with black metal band SATYRICON in late 2004, but told Launch that playing for MINISTRY is a different challenge. "When I did SATYRICON, that was more of, like, 'I’m a fan of that and I believe in the band, I’d like to, you know, get ‘em out there, I’m friends with the guys and I’m a big, avid black metal fan,’ he explained. “But this one is more, and again, this is a different style of music that I haven’t really got into playing. I mean, I have, but this will be a big thing.”

Jordison was also recently approached to play a few dates with ANTHRAX, and famously sat in for METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich when the drummer fell ill and could not make it to a massive U.K. festival in the summer of 2004.

MINISTRY’s new album, “Rio Grande Blood”, will arrive on May 2.

SLIPKNOT went on hiatus at the end of 2005 after nearly 18 months on the road in support of its third album, 2004’s “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)”.

SLIPKNOT singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are now recording the second album from their other band, STONE SOUR, while percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan will make a new album with his side project, TO MY SURPRISE.

The clown has a side project?

To Your Surprise he does. Sorry, bad joke. They take a hiatus from touring just to go and do other projects and tour with them. Haha.

This should be a great live show. Even sans keyboardist. Do you really need a keyboard player anymore? Just use DAT or a computer. Fuck it.

Unless of course Ministry is planning on playing some older stuff live. Which, I doubt they are. Anything they pick anyway will lean towards being metally and only need the base samples. No really playing around with them anymore.

I mean, we discussed Static-X opening for Ministry, and they’re electronic at times and don’t have a keyboardist live. They use a lot of tape!

The clown has a side project?

They do an annoying song called “In the Mood,” that’s terribly, irritatingly catchy.
And now it’s stuck in my head again, thank you very much.
