AL is ready for new one after 2 years after Mike’s death.
tour dates out there i see. 2017
so we get to hear the same old songs as usual and still sound like shit.
sad.
Mikey died FOUR years ago.
I don’t know what the new album will bring (I don’t have high expectations, but I’ll give it a chance).
As for a tour — I’m always on board. Even if the album sucks and the setlist is lazy they still always deliver a good show.
gunnar right 4 years for mike my mistake there…sorry

No worries, Dude.
It took much less than 2 years for Al to go back on all his post-Scaccia promises, though.
“Scaccia is gone. Ministry can’t go on. No more. We’re done.”
Then . . . “We might just do a couple shows so we can perform this new album [FBTE] in his honor.”
Then . . . “Okay, we’re going to tour and do the ENTIRE album in his honor.”
Then . . . . they tour forever and play only the worst 4 songs from the album.
“Okay, yeah, we’re gonna tour but no more Ministry albums. For reals.”
Quickly turned into . . . .
“Yeah, we’re working on a new album.”
I take most of it with a grain of salt . . . . but I really didn’t like the way he used Mikey’s name on everything the last four years to push all of his bullshit without any respect or honor whatsoever.
But that’s just me being a grumpy emo faggot on behalf of my friend . . .
I think I’ve seen more “last shows ever” from Ministry than I’ve seen anything else.
What was the announcement? I’m not seeing anything on the Ministry Facebook page.
There was no big announcement, but it was mentioned on there a while back. Think Al even posted a pic of the band on a break outside of the studio.
Sin has confirmed on his page. New Ministry and new Revolting Cocks in the works.
Who are the confirmed studio members of 2017 Ministry and Revco?
For Ministry, it’s basically the touring line up. Sin, Ceasar and those 2 new guys. Bechdel.
For RevCo, it’s only Al & Sin at this point.
I’m seeing Sin tomorrow night, I’ll try to get some more info out of him.

Stone Sour’s drummer Roy Mayorga, and Prong’s new bassist Jason Christopher. Yeah, I had to look it up.

I couldn’t give less of a shit about Stone Sour or anything else that Jason played in (I think he had a stint in Prong too for a while). He seems like a giant douche.
I don’t know a whole lot about Ray Mayorga either . . . . except that he played with Amebix and his shit with them is really cool. This is one of my favorite songs ever . . .

I’ve heard the current configuration of the band is tight as fuck live. And to be honest, that’s kind of all I care about at this point as I really don’t hold out a lot of hope for an album I’ll listen to more than once before using it as a drink coaster (I wouldn’t mind being surprised, though).
Roy Mayorga played on the 1st Soulfly album too. I choose to have faith in a new Ministry LP as I really liked FBTE. And if it should suck utterly and have no redeeming qualities, then at least The Last Sucker won’t be Ministry’s worst album anymore
Al has it in him to be a great guitar player, and can write great riffs. No offense, but he could do it without Mikey… well, he used to could. Shit, listen to the first lard album.
I really liked FBTE too. A few stinkers on it, yes, but overall I was pleased with it for its own strength of songs but also because it was refreshingly different than so much of the speedmetal stuff before it.
I agree that Al has the capability to make something good. Whether he does or not . . . . I don’t know. He seems lately to just take the worn and easy path of big, fast, dumb . . . . . which, IF you have a talent like Mikey who could play bigger and faster than anyone, still provides a great point of excitement.
Big, fast, and dumb doesn’t really work for me if there aren’t some serious masters of craft. If you don’t have the best of the best it’s like amateur hour at Cirque Du Soleil. Oh, hey, nice . . . uhhh . . . somersault and splits. Oh, juggling 4 balls? Cool. I can’t do it, but it doesn’t mean I’ll be impressed when someone else does.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure no one will take issue with this theory.

If that was intended as a play on “TV Song” lyrics, you win the ZINGER OF THE WEEK award. Well played.
SHE GOT THE GODDAM DOOOOOOOOGS!!!

I thought Relapse was the worst one, and just kind of assumed everyone else felt the same.

Well, the songs on TLS sound a bit samey to me, bar the excellent Doors cover. On Relapse, I usually keep listening throughout. I found the lyrics funny as hell too, though it seems not a lot of people agree with me on that one :=) Another thing is the drum sound, which kind of ruined all of TLS, the covers albums and Bikers welcome… for me. It’s gotten better on the last two studio albums, (and on SMM) but some real drumming on the upcoming album(s) would be most welcome!

I’m with ya, Bro!
I LOVE “Relapse” but it is absolutely not the popular opinion. A lot of people hate that it’s a big dumb metal album . . . . but if you EMBRACE it as such and just enjoy the ride . . . it’s totally rad. It’s the biggest dumbest metalest album you can find.
The lyrics are perhaps the stupidest lyrics ever written in the history of words, but the music is actually really top notch and balls out. I had to even admit the other day that I even enjoy Tommy Victor’s playing on it (and I really hate Tommy).
I think this is an album that people are AFRAID to like, or afraid to admit they like even if they do kind of dig it. They’re afraid it will reflect poorly on their level of intelligence or hipness or something.
It’s the “Jackass” of albums . . . and brilliant in its stupidity. I tell everyone that can’t figure out how to enjoy this one that it is not an album you listen to with your brain. You have to listen to it with your BALLS!!!
