Ministry live at the Exit 1984

Has anyone seen this before? This is awesome!!

Looks like Stevo, Brad, and Al plus a few others. Great set list too!

Despite the age of the video / audio, this is nothing short of brilliant. Thank you to whoever transferred this to digital and posted it.

Some observations:

  • It appears that “angry” Al had fully taken over by the end of 1984 - his stage presence and fan interaction is more like 1989 and less like 1983.
  • The blend of Arista and Wax Trax material is great
  • The crowd seems to be totally into it
  • Stevo alternating between the full drum kit and the percussion set up.
  • The “shorter” version of “Work For Love” is played without the long intro.
  • “I Will Do Anything For You” deserved a proper release. Great track!
  • Who is the woman on keyboards?
  • Who is the tall dude with the black vest on keys?
  • What can I say about Al’s hair? That rivals anything Duran Duran had going back then. He sure can dance too.

Al looks friggin’ awesome here! Like a cooler, tougher Daniel Ash. This video is really great. Like noted earlier it is a neat document of a transitional period that I haven’t really seen captured before.

Girl on keys is Yvonne Gage.

Thanks!

Also, this appears to be the source of the video material:
