Not sure of why because I didn’t see the whole episode, but one the non-major characters had to sit with new people in a class on this show. The people happened to be typical teenage goths, the non-major character said “Abandon Hope, all ye who enter here” (or however the quote goes). One of the goths replies with “Hey, is that from the new Ministry record?”
interesting choice I though. Obvious would have been manson or nin.
Yes, I remember that episode. It was a good one from what I can remember, there was some sort of factional war going on in the school. I was well surprised when the goth inquired if the quote from the fat kid was something to do with the new Ministry album. That of course was when when the name Ministry had a bit of prestige about it.
hmm actually i think u’d still be more likely to hear Ministry in goth clubs than in metal clubs, so if the writers of that show knew anything about goth culture it would make sense to mention Ministry.
ALSO - was the show owned by Warner Bros by any chance? That would explain a lot!
I used to have a t-shirt that said: ‘vampire’s aren’t real. grow up.’
it was the best thing to wear to local clubs or manson concert. the stares were priceless.
I love how everyone hates “goths” and is too cool for them, but you actually take time to don a corny ass t-shirt just to “stick it to 'em”. Good job buddy. That just makes you even more fucking lame than they are.
I hear this kind of shit all the time in these kind of fan forums. “Oh nooo goths! They are so gay!” You do realize the only people who seem to be troubled by people dressing this way are people who do in fact listen to shit like Ministry and probably dress in a more toned down version of the “goth” look themselves.

nah, everyone hates the “emo’s” now, same shit, move publicly acceptable.

struck a nerve did i? you took the time to mock me. so by your theory that makes you even more fucking lame than i am.
and as a side note, I have never dressed in any version of ‘goth’ in my life.
I just wanted to point out that this kind of attitude of “I hate goths so much” seems to come from people into industrial type shit (who most people would consider “goths”) whereas “goth” is irrelevant to “normal” peoplel; they don’t even care/moved on to emo.
Wasn’t automatically lumping you in that category and just pointed it out, but the anti-goth shirt did strike me as lame. it doesn’t cost me much time or any money to type this, but you bought the damn shirt so by my theory you are still putting more effort into this.
