Ministry (Greatest Hits) in Sept.

Rhino has this listed with a release date of Sept. 25th.

Ministry – Ministry (Greatest Hits)

Already got one…errr…two (rantology is sort of).

hahahah… so who’s gonna get paid for this release?

Blame mrs. jay! Yeah! But 13th Planet is really going to milk the whole concept of “this is this last ministry release…not really…this one will…hrmmmm…yeah, it’ll actually be…”. Just release your album and tour! This is too reminisant of Kiss and I look foward to the ministry reunion in 09.

This is coming out on Rhino - they do cheapie greatest hits discs for EVERYONE. I doubt 13th Planet has much, if anything, to do with it.

rhino is a division of warners. they’re entitled to re-release whatever ministry material warners has. even if it’s sold for cheap.
13th planet didn’t need to be involved.

Well if it’s just stuff from Warner Brothers than it’s bound to be much better than any album released after DSOTS.

if it’s from warner/subdivision, whats the point then? they had greatest fits released in 2001.

we call it money mon frere

labels–OLD labels–still try to make their money back.
maybe al’s getting paid to remix.

really…let’s break this down for a minute.
the past 6 ministry albums have consisted of a greatest hits, a “trilogy” , a remix album for the 2nd album of the trilogy, (possibly one for the 3rd of the trilogy) , a covers album, and a greatest hits album again!

i think a lot of us are tired of the regurgetation which is now ministry. hard to swallow.

Christ… I only bought “Greatest Fits” because (I admit) I like “What About Us?”
This one can stay on the shelf.

I bought Greatest Fits for the remastered sound, although although admittedly, What About Us is not that bad a song…

I love “what about us?”! lol. What’s wrong with it?

the whole AI project had the taste of al and not much else.what else is new.

A good many people on this board, and on the Piss Army (I got sick of THAT real fast), seem to dislike DSOTS-era Ministry.
I can see why… Banjo and electronica mixed just doesn’t do it for some.
But it’s grown on me, and DSOTS has become my second favorite Ministry album… Jesus, it’s probably in my top twenty fave albums.

the fat lady then DID sing.
well well.

I just replayed “What About Us”, to remind myself of why I don’t like this song (I rarely listen to it):

  1. Al’s vocals - freaking annoying, no variation, a monotonous screaming of the lyrics throughout, and the FX make it worse

  2. Treble nightmare - the hi’s are just too much in this song (esp. the chorus). Just shitty noise.

  3. The music - Ministry can make monotony work (Burning Inside among others), but not in this case. I’m bored and done with this song in the first minute (is the whole fucking song an E chord, what the fuck?).

  4. Annoying guitar noise, and Paul’s on autopilot. Yeah, this song just doesn’t do it for me. For-gettable! Just like A.I.

1002

I agree there - that was pretty much the start of the murderous high end that’s haunted Ministry right up until the new album, which has a better mix.
Otherwise, I disagree. I love the song and see it as Ministry getting back on track after the (mostly) disappointing DSotS.
