Yeah, placement could have been better thought out. Maybe over your heart or on your arm somewhere you could cover up, or . . . .well, kind of anywhere other than the neck, face, or hands.
At least you can kind of explain that one a bit, though. “It’s the Virgin Mary. It’s a tribute to my wife.” sounds a lot better than, “Oh, yeah, that’s a giant upside-down pentagram with a goats head in it. It’s also called a ‘baphomet’ sometimes. I was really into black metal . . . and Satan. Let’s not talk about my tattoo, though. I really just want to be hired because of my people skills.”

Work is work, though, it’s good that you’re able to provide for your sons, even if the job isn’t well paid. Good for you, i’m sure it must be tough to do it alone, but you’re doing it and you’re not relying on anyone else.

So, how was the show? Were Godflesh as boring as ever? Did Ministry disappoint? I saw some photos online, i’d definitely prefer to see them in that kind of venue than outdoors, in the daytime, in the sweltering heat.

It really is, i was shocked when i saw the pics from their appearances, it’s so unimaginable. They need to lurk in the darkness, and in the evil green light, not in bright full-on fuckin’ sunshine. The only time i need to hear Ministry in sunlight is when i’m hammered at a BBQ or drinking down by the river on a nice hot day.
Yeah, daytime Ministry shows are lame.
It’s like trying to enjoy Bauhaus play a show at the beach while it’s 110deg outside and the sun is blaring down. Everyone has got straw hats on and Zinca on their noses while trying to groove and drink their pina coladas and Peter Murphy and the boys are covered head to toe in all black and moaning on a spiderweb-adorned stage screaming “Bella Lugosi’s Dead”. Really? Who’s that? A surfer? Did he wipe out on a killer wave or something? Bust out that fog machine (Front 242 did at Lollapalooza) and it looks even stupider.

Also, what’s the deal with the lineup? Is the Pissing Razors dude doing OZ, South America, etc? When does Monte Pittman get in the mix? North America?
Yeah, maybe, it’s definitely slower and sludgier than previous Ministry, but for me it’s more interesting than Godflesh. Maybe it’s just that i like the madness of Ministry whereas Godflesh has never seemed to have any personality, for me anyway, and is kinda inward-looking. I think i just prefer a bit of fury and theatrics rather than 2 guys in jeans and t-shirts with a drum machine. Ministry was exciting, Al was a crazy character and Paul was the solid, technical genius who reigned him in enough to make magic. Godflesh was faceless and there was nothing in the music that appealed to me anywhere near as much as Ministry’s stuff.

I wondered the same thing, i thought there were 3 guitars, although i thought that was Monte in the pics. Is it the Pissing Razors guy?
Just checked Monte’s website, looks like he’s playing on US shows starting in April. He’s been tweeting about his boss, Madonna, falling on her arse earlier this evening in the middle of her performance.
