I’ll keep things brief as the tour has been talked about rather extensively.
First off, I can’t say I cared for Pitbull Daycare. They were good for what they are I suppose…but they just were a bit too “nu metal” sounding to me. I’ll note that they did an o.k. cover of the Ace of Spades however and they did have great stage presence.
Much to my surprise, despite Al and Van Acker being the only two original cocks left, I really enjoyed the Cocks. I didn’t think they’d be able to pull it off with out Chris, but I actually really liked the new singer. Would have been nice to have Paul and Rieflin around, but oh well.
Ministry was great and I’ll note two things in particular about their set. For one, they did a variation of N.W.O. that I’ve never heard them do before…it has a very strong percussion/rhythm beginning, and the guitar slowly builds on. By 3/4 way through the song, it’s become the more familiar N.W.O. I really liked this variation though…wasn’t at all expecting it and it was excellent. Next, Khyber Pass was made to sound the way that it should have on the album (IMO)…I really like Khyber Pass, but on the album it just seems like the song dies out way to soon; live it was extended a fair deal, and truly seemed more fitting that way.
