True, I don’t know if the “jam band” moniker sticks to Primus, but they sure fall under that umbrella (as does Ween, which is even weirder). They don’t go on forever like the Dead or Phish, but I think Claypool’s worked with Trey Anastasio too many times to totally discount the comparison. If you REALLY wanna see Claypool do the jam band thing, check him out solo or with Sean Lennon… they go on FOREVER. (Much like Ween.)
Slayer is a great show. Lotta pyro. Very intense pit, but the most intense pit I’ve ever seen was Pantera in 94. I lost teeth.
Yeah I hear what you are saying…I think I somehow blocked out of my memory the fact he worked with Anastacio…Les has done quite a few side projects…
And yes I was in a Slayer pit in 92 that was by far the most fucked up pit I’ve ever been in…bunch of pure homicidal maniacs were set loose in that pit…I’m way to old for that shit now…I pull a muscle just looking at a pit these days…
They’re in front of a crowd of Slayer fans. I expect them to, as the kids say, “bring it.”
Al was quoted as saying the set was strictly “meat and potatoes.” I anticipate a solid performance, which will terminate the need for a violent bloodbath. (That’s me paraphrasing a Simpsons quote, btw. Here you go --)
Yeah it is a tiny little mountain town…I’ve been several times but have never been to the arena…apparently its a small one that only holds about 7,000…
I once low-key brought a Justin Bieber shirt to a Slayer show. Accidentally dropped it in the pit and the fellow that picked it up did NOT find it amusing.
