Anyone ever watch Faces of Death? Watched it for the first time only to find scenes from In Case You Didn’t Feel Like Showing Up and Burning Inside (Music video) included. The scene of the person falling from the burning building in Burning Inside… Also it looks like the cover of The Land of Rape and Honey was taken directly from the movie where they show footage from the remains in concentration camps. I don’t know if this is all already known, I just thought it was cool to find the same picture as the LORAH cover.
That is interesting, never made the connection. I haven’t watched any of those Faces films in at least 15, or 16 years.
The picture of the bodies lined up on the inside of LORAH also comes from Faces of Death. I used to have screenshots sitting on my computer somewhere, but I think they’re gone now.
Also, Faces of Death is a truly shitty movie and I can’t believe it’s built up as much notoriety as it has.
most of the scenes are fake, although, there is some real footage contained along with the other “reinactments.” You can tell the fake scenes by the multiple camera angles when there is only supposed to be one camera present. I think High school and college kids keep that series alive and well, followed closely by the “Tracers of Death” series which seems to me to be a little more realistic, although to “Faces of Death’s” credit I believe one of them had the actual footage of Bud Dwyer’s suicide.

I don’t know the specifics around Dwyers death just the generalities. Supposedly the repubs set him up to take the fall for embezzlement and the judge that was going to hear his case was an “activist” and was going to put his ass away for along time but Dwyer being the “smart guy” that he was Killed himself before resigning that way his family could still collect his benefits that are afforded to all family members of a politician that has died while holding office.
Funny you mention the amoount of blood that drained out of his nose looked like someone turned on the tap because I think that’s exactly what I said to my wife. She cried, she thought it was sad no matter what he did.

I was always under the impression that the snuff films that are traded around in very undeground circles was bullshit… Like for example, average everyday girl kidnapped and filmed being raped and then sodomized with a meat hook while she’s being disembowled and screaming horribly wasn’t quite real. bullshit in respect that those underground circles and those videos don’t exist but who knows?

Its weird that sometimes actual violence caught on film looks faker than the slick effects of horror films.
Its improbable that such underground snuff rings exist, but not entirely impossible, it just may not be like what is portrayed in print and mvies. Snuff the film, Cannibal Holocaust, and the Guinea Pig series are all examples of where filmmakers had to prove to authorities, or in court itself that no one was actually killed during their making. Of course in Cannibal Holocaust’s case actual animals were slaughtered on film which is another thing.
The Guinea Pig series has been plagued with weirdness ever since it first appeared. The story goes that Hideshi Hino the manga artist that directed the notorious 2nd episode Flower Of Flesh And Blood had received a package from a deranged fan depicting pretty much what happens in that film, a man dressed as a samurai dismembering a young woman. He turned it over to the police, but was so disturbed by what he saw he tried to recreate it on film in an effort to exorcise the images. Now this has been since proven false, it was just hyperbole to help sell the movie.
Charlie Sheen however saw it at a party and did think it was real, and told the MPAA who alerted the FBI. It then turned out that the makers were already under investigation by the Japanese authorities, and they had to prove it was all special effects. Luckily for them they had made a “making of” video as well.
In a bizarre episode of life imitating art the series was connected to serial killer Tsutomu Miyazaki who apparently patterned his brutalities from one of the episodes.
Like many I was first exposed to these films on Skinny Puppy’s Too Dark Park tour where parts were used as bits of the backing film. Since then I’ve watched Flower of Flesh and Blood once, it is not a film you want to watch over and over again. Now this stuff has hit the mainstream with films like 8mm and Hostel.

I remember that now, when I first heard that it came as a shock as it was kind of obvious in the video that Trent wasn’t really killed for his art. I guess if someone didn’t know what he looked like at the time they might mistake him for someone else being killed, but its still kind of goofy.
I’m sure there are underground snuff markets/cartels and the like. Wouldn’t surprise me any. Fucked up, but probably true.

Lou Dobbs Commited suicide? When did that happen? or did you mean Bud Dwyer? I would venture to say the book says that “Snuff” in it’s actual form, the rape, torture and Killing of an indiviual for the soul purpose to video tape and distribute, has not taken takne place on a mass scale. Although I’d be hard pressed to think that the rape and killing of a person being put on video has never happened. like I said very small black market if the market even exists at all.

It was the sickest fucking thing I have ever seen, I was wretching after it and I couldn’t even watch all of it. I won’t even mention the name of the site or a link because I wouldn’t wish the nausea on anyone else. I’m not easily disturbed but this was heavy. It made Bud Dwyer’s suicide look like High School Musical.

i went there ten years ago when it was called gore gallery. and you are quite right that is some disturbing shit. Although, they never had videos (I’m assuming they do now since you alluded to snuff films) while I didn’t wretch, I gotta say the pic of the dead lady with her nipples cut out was pretty saddening as was the horrific look on the lady’s faces who was being suffocated with a clear plastic bag and the other lady who was tied up with her hands above her head and starter cables clamped to her nipples was very haunting.
