Ministry - "Bloodlines"

Listening back to “Bloodlines”, it’s not half bad at all, and way better than what was to come after. The jaded, whining comments are not surprising on this forum, least of all my own. I’d love to read back to DSOTS release and read the same people now praising that album trashing the crap out of it at the time.

I think “Bloodlines” is an underrated track, rip off of “So What” or not. It’s like “So What” and “Bad Blood” mixed together. I like the sound of the live drummer and the mixing of it is much better than what would come after.

Does anyone know who was the drummer on “Bloodlines”?

I don’t know off hand, but it might be in the Rantology credits. I think Mark Baker was drumming for them at the time.

Just checked…credits don’t say but I’m guessing it was Baker. Also it says Scaccia played guitar on it which gives it an added bonus.

Yeah, i love Bloodlines, especially the “I laid my life on the line bit”, great track. To be honest i’d forgotten about it, thanks for reminding me!

I’ve always liked bloodlines. I agree that it’s a rip of so what but so what isn’t a shitty song and bloodlines is tweaked to also not be a shitty song

Kinda reminds me of what GNR did with don’t cry. either way it’s a good song.

I never got the So What vibe or similarities that everyone seems to be getting. The drumming maybe, the length? I dont hear it. Its good never the less. Along with What About Us, it sounds like mutant tracks off Animos.

the bassline & drumming is very similar.

i listened to all of HOTM not too long ago and it still holds up for me as badass. Worm is great.

Always enjoyed this tune. I think there’s like 3 versions out there.

shit production, very excessive amount of treble in the ‘choruses’, yes an intended self-ripoff of so what. i dunno, pretty meh.

Pretty cool song. Alot of treble, yeah, but it’s not the end of the world. I think Baker did a majority of drumming between 04 and 06.

IMO it’s not as bad as ‘Animositisomina’ production-wise. It’s kind of a mix of the sound of that album and the ‘Houses of the Mole’ sound…

A nice bridge between the 2 albums…

You truly are a moron of massive proportions. Al himself said it was a rip-off of So What. He didn’t feel like spending a lot of time on a song that was meant to be released for a video game.

Insulting me over that just shows what a moron YOU are, sir… fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Internet tough guy.

I like it. This song and So What are both similar in style to “Everglades” by The Blackouts.
