Over the weekend, a friend tipped me off to a Mind is A Terrible Thing cassette. The cover/insert listed it as having a Bonus song. The track listing on the back was complete, any clue as to what the bonus song is?
I’m trying to find a cassette player in the meantime…
I looked on discogs for any infot relating to this, and some releases don’t have it officially listed as a track, but this one did.
Is it really to be considered a bonus?
The record that got me into them! Mind on cassette!!
slack is right. it (along w/the CD) had it listed as an additional track. Not worded as a bonus per se, but as an incentive. Bear in mind that in order to steer customers into purchasing newer formats at the time that things like bonus tracks, remixes, B-sides etc were encouraged on CD/tape in order to transition from vinyl.
Rape & Honey had two added tracks too.
Japan has it on lock though, they still do it and I believe it’s actually a law? Read that somewhere, can anyone clarify? Daymare Recordings comes to mind
I’m not sure it’s a law so much as it is an incentive to get Japanese people to buy domestically produced CDs instead of imports which are apparently cheaper for some reason.
