I never knew ANY of the members’ names (until this week, for obvious reasons). I watched a 2016 live clip this morning of them doing “Beyond the Black” at Wacken or some similar large Euro-fest and it was Howe on vocals. The vocals weren’t as tight as the album, but I just assumed it was a side effect of getting old, haha.
Anyway, condolences to Mike’s family, friends, fans, and bandmates.
David passed away about 15 years ago due to some sort of accident.
My fav Metal Church track - Gods of Wrath which is also from the 1st album.

Mike Howe’s official cause of death was determined to be asphyxia due to hanging. A spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Dept. told the site authorities are calling it a suicide.
