Late,

I’m not sure which is more embarrassing - their music or the fact that lots of people like their music?

You’re Doing It Wrong

Is that the name of their new album?

I believe the title of their new album is:

Korn III (Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying What All The Cool, Intellectual, Pitchfork Media Hipsters Think Of Me And Learned To Start Loving Pessimistic Tough Guy Hip Hop Metal Y’All)

Or something along those lines.

Supposedly it sounds like a Faith No More/Sepultura/NWA/Fear Factory hybrid and features Drop D tuning, turntable scratching and lyrics which deal with self loathing, mental and physical anguish, paranoia and gettin’ bitches to go down on you.

It almost cost as much as a fully tricked out luxury yacht with all the trimmings to produce.

I’d say it’ll be a hit with the baggy jeans, facial piercings, tattoos and Daddy issues crowd.

They love all that shit.

Doing what wrong?
Except that one guy has super short hair, it just looks like the same thing they’ve been doing for 15 years.

Faith No More? You’re being generous. It’s a bunch of 40-somethings trying to rehash something they did almost 20 years ago. It’s boring. A couple decent songs, but not enough to buy it. I actually like the first few albums quite a bit. This is garbage.

Jonathan Davis has said it took Mike Patton guesting on a Milk Cult track to do that hyper-scatting thing he did, and basically took it from there.

Funny thing is, I’m sure he’s an okay guy, but like most bands like theirs they’re so…serious

the new korn is insanely killer good!

i like all korn though…dot dot dot.

and as long as i think so…dot dot dot, then thats all that actually matters, and thats with any situation.

“i dont like these new apples cause thier too red”
thats the non-stop whining you get most places, this one included.

were not running a cult here, feel free to think for yourself.

it’s cool to listen to nin and the go go’s…once again…dot dot dot. 'cause i said so…remember?

The sad thing is that Korn is probably better than 90% of the shit the play on the radio today.

Didn’t one of their members “find christ” or something like that and left the band?

Goofy ass motherfuckers… not quite as goofy as Blownload, but close.

Why are we even giving this the time of day?

Admittedly, their first two albums were great. Three if you didn’t find the blatant attempts at commercial success on the third album overly grating.

But they’re not a metal band. Never were. Kiddie-metal at best.

Musically, some quasi-interesting things happening on the first two albums; and good riffs; and I liked the production.

But, we all know we can get all of those things, done better, elsewhere.

Nice plaits and pigtails, tho. [laugh]

All pretty typical - blatantly offensive and immature forum troll. Figures that you’d find this kind of zero intellect ‘kiddie metal’ fascinating.

Did you get bored with the Piss Army?

Amlux, mate.

JUST DON’T LOOK. JUST DON’T LOOK.

old chinese/box hill proverb: “more is said when nothing is said at all”

I wouldn’t exactly say better. They just stand out over those other bands that have the same guitar tone and play the same tempo, along with a singer that either has an extremely whiny or pseudo aggressive nu-metal voice. I thought Korn was quite superior to other bands on MTV, but I was also 14. Kids think and do foolish things sometimes. I guess they were okay back in the mid/late '90s. They were suitable for that time. Not now though.

Still, they’re not as bad as that band around that same time with the douchey singer in the red baseball cap that covered a song by that guy who got busted by an undercover cop in the men’s room…

I lol’d for a minute, because I mistakenly thought you were alluding to Fred Durst getting caught in the men’s room.

What was the name of that Korn song a few years ago that had this really thick riff and actually sounded cool but then the singer started in and it turned to shit.

Or maybe I’ve just described most of Korn’s songs. Though I haven’t listened to them since this song I’m talking about. Remember hearing this song a lot at Ozzfest in '02 in between acts. It was '02 because I remember Andy Cairns from Therapy? dedicating a song to Layne Stayley who had died a few weeks earlier.

I didn’t know Head rejoined the band. I thought he was all “Christian” and shit.

I’ll admit it, I liked s/t and Life Is Peachy as a teen.

Doesn’t that guy beat box in his music? HAHA!! I remember hearing that and laughing outta my mind.

But yeah, they have a cool metal sound but the vocals just ruin it all.
