I’m really confused with these statements coming out against getting something that prevents you and others from getting sick. I’m no “sheep” and I think most of us who post or view this board aren’t for social norms, going along with the group mentality but this sick thing going around is just that getting sick.
I’m not looking to get sick!
Quotes I’m seeing recently:
Freedom, to me, is so important, medical freedom being one of the biggest types of freedom that needs to be protected.
I stand 100% for freedom, and medical freedom is especially important to me. I believe that you should get the vaccine if you want it, but should not have to if you don’t want it.
Not performing on any stage where there is a discriminated audience present.” Eric Clapton
Right now, what’s going on is tyranny. This is called tyranny. Look it up when you get home. And tyranny isn’t only in government. Tyranny right now is in the schools and tyranny is in the medical business.
I have the opinion that vaccines shouldn’t be mandatory. Where I live they aren’t and I’m happy with that. Even thought it’s a decision that impacts everybody, I don’t think it’s a good idea to force people. But I think that everyone should have the vaccine because the pros far outcome the cons. That’s what the facts say, that’s what the specialists say, so I went with it and nothing wrong happened to me yet.
Luckily, almost everyone in my country is pro vaccines, we have already 80% of population vaccinated and the latest stats show that 14 in 15 of the people in the ER’s aren’t full vaccinated. On the other hand, my mother found the internet recently, and went in full religious lunacy mode. I can’t fight with reason what she says, it doesn’t work that way, I tried but it’s impossible. But she says something important, she says she respects my decision to get vaccinated, she says she understands the risks to herself and to others and that she’ll do the best to protect herself but without the vaccine (because the bible says that we shouldn’t get technology into our bodies…) At least she knows the risks and isn’t trying to force her opinion to others. I explained her my opinion, tried to deconstruct what she said, but in the end it’s her choice… I think it’s a bad choice, an harmful choice, but her choice.
It’s difficult to set the boundaries to freedom, we all know that, and we are living in times where this discussion is really relevant. I have to confess I don’t have a set opinion about it because there are always two sides of the coin… I just try to be informed and make my decisions in a sensible way… this overflow of information, of opinions, is exhausting, it’s good to step aside and enjoy life without this constant negativity and dilemmas… By the way, I just had the most wonderful vacations, swam everyday, visited wonderful places and met wonderful people.
I’m of the opinion that our freedoms only extend as far as they do before they infringe on someone else’s freedoms. That being said, I don’t think anyone has the freedom to not get the shot simply because no one has the right to make someone else sick and that’s what you’re doing by not getting the shot.
As far as making the shot mandatory here in the US, it is not. Theyr’e not going door to door. They are requiring larger businesses to enforce it, but you don’t have to keep the job you have. If your job requires you get the shot you are free to quit and find a job with a smaller business that doesn’t require the shot. (The librarian at my son’s school did just exactly that.) I think that’s an asinine move because we’re back at someone not having the right to make others sick.
As far as clapton and this other lunatics hollering about tyranny or some other bullshit I just laugh at them. Keeping yourself and others safe is not “tyranny.” get the fuck outta here. I think eric has been living in clapton world a little too long.
I think it’s all bullshit.
I got the vaccine. I don’t think that makes me any more virtuous than someone that didn’t. And I don’t blame anyone for being distrustful of the so-called experts and authorities that continually lie about everything.
He’s got quite a history of saying dumb shit that gets him in trouble. Guess he figured since he’s already a guitar virtuoso he doesn’t have to ever learn anything else.
