Very excited to see Something Wonderful. One of my favorite RevCo tunes. How did Phildo do on it? Or was it Phildo?
Phildo was great, really good to see him again after such a long time removed from the old Skatenig shows. But it was Luc Van Acker on Something Wonderful and Attack Ships on Fire.
Gots a question here. Are they still using the O Fortuna/Carmina Burana samples when they play No W or have they wstiched to the ‘redux’ version with some random opera singer faking it?
I also was wondering about that, along with Gibby singing “JBMHR,” and, most importantly - is Jello along for the ride? I would LOVE to hear the new stuff he contributed to, and maybe some LARD songs as an encore?
PLEASE!?!
Looking very forward seeing ministry + Revco live in concert. I also do think filth pig, dark side, and animositisomina have great songs on them. I would love to hear shove and nursing home live in the flesh. Can’t wait for HOB July 2 Chicago baby![cool][laugh]
It’s a bummer that Burning Inside and Breathe have been almost completely ignored since 1990. Regardless, I’m still looking forward to next Wednesday’s show in Tempe. I’ll almost certainly post a set list and review that night, if not Thursday morning.
There are shows in Colorado and Utah this weekend. Is anyone going?

“Breathe” was done regularly in 2003. It ruled. “Burning Inside” was only played once on that tour though… but yeah, it’s been ignored a long time… probably since 1992.
Damn I really wish I had seen them in 2003 when they were actually playing some interesting songs instead of the same old crap + the latest speed metal turds that Al shits out dime a dozen

It’s official - I’m old. I think I’ve finally had my fill of Ministry concerts. They are just too loud to enjoy anymore. Half the time the guitars drowned out the drums, and the music just blended into an inaudible mess. It was so loud and piercing, that earplugs didn’t even help. There’s just no clarity to the songs when they play them. The RevCo set wasn’t as bad - in fact I enjoyed it a lot more. Seeing Luc again was cool. The new Attack Ships was pretty good. The Ministry set was just an hour and a half of going through the motions. I think the most intriguing part of Ministry’s show was watching Tommy Victor play. This guy plays with a scowl on his face that would scare small children, funny stuff. Raven just looks like a thug! Anyway, this show was not a whole lot different from the last one. I’m just glad I got to see these guys back in the LORAH/Mind days. For me, the Ministry live experience has run its course.
Thanks for posting…how was the chick in Ministry (pass tune)? Any details…how was Al signing, were samples used instead of al signing? Did AL say anything during RevCo. Is luc fat? did Joey do good on drums. etc.
The drummer was just sort-of ‘there’. At times it didn’t seem like he was moving at all! Khyber Pass didn’t feature live female vox - it sounded like the vocal track from the album. The only female I saw onstage was RevCo’s bass player. Yeah, Luc was looking pudgy, but I met him in '88 at a Ministry show, and he looked kinda the same. He was a wild man onstage, and was very animated during the RevCo set. He really belted the vox for “Attack Ships”. Also, Al mentioned that Gibby Hanes was in rehab. Don’t know why, but I was expecting to see Jello Biafra last night. I guess since they’re not playing Ass Clown, there’s no reason for him to be there.
Most of Al’s vocals sounded live, though the long yell in “Wrong” might have been a sample. There may have been a couple of times where he was singing along with a sample of himself, too. For the most part, he sang live and sounded good.

I like to call the new sound “Ministallica”. Don’t mind it if you accept what it is… Metal.
Please do elaborate… Is this a concert-only special? Any releases? Sounds groovy…
It was basically just a ‘rocked-out’ version of the song…try to imagine if it was recorded for Cocked and Loaded. Al’s guitar followed the bassline, except at the very end of the pattern, he throws in a little ascending blues hook. The new version fits more within the new RevCo sound - way less industrial (though the electronic toms come in during the part when Luc sings “someone, somewhere wake me up”). I still prefer the original, but the new one had a lot of energy, and seemed to be the song that really got the crowd involved. BSQ was ok, but I don’t think it makes for a great opening song. It went on for far too long. Too bad they didn’t play Dead End Streets - that’s the best song on C&L.
Anyone know the name of the singer who dressed up as Hitler in drag? He actually sang well, and did a good Connelly impression (though the real thing would’ve been better).
…oh, and Stainless Steel Providers was awesome - very faithful to the original version (sounded like the drummer played live over the original percussion track).
