MasterBaTour 2006 - Set Lists and Reviews

I would like to hear some songs from filth pig and dark side on this tour. Underrated minstry albums that many people give them no credit for. Guess that is why I’m looking more forward to hear the revolting cocks play. Should be a great concert to see.

Attack Ships on Fire and Something Wonderful were the highlights of the night - absolutely brutal versions of both songs. The whole set was fantastic - I wished they’d play their own show. And despite what some say, I think Pitbull Daycare was one of the best opening bands I’ve ever seen. They had energy and their songs were fun - you can’t ask for anything better out of an opening band.

I don’t have a Ministry setlist.

I’m with ya. Is 1 song from each too much? Also, JBMHR sounds like shit live, it always has.

Exactly what I expected - super heavy on the last two albums, a few cuts from 88-92, and nothing else. Who’s doing vox on JBMH?
Good setlist for RevCo though.

yes, ministry setlist was obvious. revco is a surprising one though but maybe because the older revco songs are easier to play than new ones.

I don’t have a Ministry setlist.

thanks for the revco info! i was wondering when some one would get this.

Attack Ships…excellent.

Am I truly amongst only a few that was satisfied with Rio Grande Blood?

There definately are a couple tracks that I don’t care all that much for, but all in all, I must say that I haven’t had a Ministry album in such regular rotation/play since 69. Can’t say I like it as much as 69, but to that same end, I still think it’s solid and honestly, I think my biggest fear was that they would bypass Kyber Pass from their setlist (nice to see they didn’t).

Pretty satisfying setlist as far as I’m concerned…I’d definately put LORAH, Mind, and 69 as my 3 personal favorite Ministry albums…this one would come 4th…Houses 5th. Having a setlist comprised pretty much of material from my 4 favored albums is pretty darn assuring as far as I’m concerned.

Further…well…I’ll confess…I’m finally starting to get tired of hearing some of the older material despite my love of it. I’ve been hearing/seeing a lot of those songs performed since Lollapolloza…then again when they headed out with Sepultura and Helmet…and well…lets just say some of those songs have finally started to grow repetative…the current setlist I think isn’t just fresh, but damn good as well (and still includes some oldies).

Finally, I’m sure Al is getting tired of performing some of those songs…I’m sure Mike is probably starting to grow tired of performing 69 material. Can’t say I totally understand people wanting to hear the same setlist year in and year out.

dude, i cant wait till the 23rd, revco and ministry are apparently looking delish this tour. im happy as fuck revco is playing the songs i wanted to hear, (ASOF, someting wonderful, BSQ, physical, & BS&Q) and i actually like new ministry as well, plan on picking up new album next weekend. wish theyd do more revco shit like cattle grind and you often forget, just those two alone added on to the setlist and that be the perfect show ever.

yes, but then again, they always play NWO, J1F and THIEVES in a bunch ala sphinctour.

why stretching out the songs? i mean NWO is great but why dont they limit it to 4 minutes instead of going on for 6 or 7 minutes like on sphinctour or just another fix? stigmata for 9 minutes? or so what for 12?

I guess “No Devotion” was a little old and/or poppy for RevCo to play this time around.

Would also like to see a track or two from Twitch worked into the set list at some point, but highly unlikely.

Ahhh… so who’s video’ing the new revco and then? [:P] I wanna see the new revco, cuz Ministry might be planning to come down under but there was no mention of revco dangit

I’m really happy to see Worthless and Something Wonderful included, that’ll make it for me. Is Gibby perhaps singing JBMHR? Because whoever said that it sucked live is right, and it may be listenable with Mr. Haynes on the helm.

Very excited to see Something Wonderful. One of my favorite RevCo tunes. How did Phildo do on it? Or was it Phildo?

“No Devotion” is poppy?

Everyone in the cocks did fucking great! In alot of ways they are more energetic than ministry! Believe me i was surprised and very impressed.

aw! no Mr Lucky!

did they play the ‘banned’ version of physical?

and to 23 - you’re not the only one pleased with RGB. I can’t wait to hear those songs live.

I mean, it’s good to hear Stigmata, J1F, So What, etc…but, we’ve heard them live enough already. Let’s test out some new shit!

also… did BSQ have an intro?
Like, did they play the ‘lets see you drop them pants’ thing?

Filth Pig, Dark Side, and Animositisomina all have things to offer other than generic industrialized speedmetal. Al just doesn’t seem interested in those kinds of things anymore. Doesn’t he realize that post-Barker has Ministry has become…well…predictable, one-dimensional, and kind of fucking boring?

It may be “just metal” to some, but I think it sounds heaps better than any other “metal” act I’ve heard recently. Not that I have heard much of HOuses or RGB at all (only because of lack of $ and reluctance to download), but the songs I have heard were great. I’ve liked everything ministry so far, and I am sure I will like everything to come. I don’t know why people are bitching about “oh since paul left”, who cares? Sure he contributed to some great albums, but if you wanna hear live DSOTS or FIlth Pig stuff, get a bootleg, theres material from both of those eras, and animositisomina floating around that I’m sure can satisfy your needs.
I can understand a want to see this material in the flesh, but it doesnt seem like it’s gonna happen. Bootlegs are the next best thing, it’s still capturing how those tracks sounded live and the energy behind them. Plus most of the boots of heard of filth pig onwards are pretty decent quality.

While I may not get to hear all of the songs I love played live, I am still excited to see ministry (and hopefully RevCo). I wanna know those dates boys, come on!
