Marilyn Manson is a genius

I’m gonna say I’m not a fan of the man at all, but I do like Born Villain, and his smoke bombs have nothing on vintage Sho Kosugi.

Another funny aspect is that he is at a ‘Spring Breakers’ after party…oooohhh that’s how the Anti-christ Superstar rolls…so dark…

My mistake…had no idea Spring Breakers was the new Harmony Korine movie…now I get the connection…that one is one me…

This does not make him a “genius”. This is stupid, attention seeking, that he didn’t need to do when he was still relevant and could write/sing a decent song. This is a 40+ year old dude desperately trying to get attention.

Have you heard him in interviews lately? He’s a joke. Fucking guy brings up Columbine so much you’d think it happened yesterday. Yet, after it happened and he was being blamed he understandably didn’t wanna talk about it and made “Holy Wood” (his last good album, imo) as a way to answer critics instead.

Now he’s touring with Alice Cooper. How fucking predictable and desperate. Still living off his dying reputation of being “shocking” and constantly reminding everyone that he does lots of drugs and alcohol.

I wish Alice would drop the clown and just make his own set longer. Manson better NOT be headlining this double-header. I’ll have to kill someone.

Alice has his shit together.
At 65 years old he’ll blow Manson off the stage.

Exactly. And now, come to think of it (assuming it doesn’t diminish his set time) I’d maybe prefer Alice to go on first. This way I don’t have to sit through MM’s crap and I don’t have to worry about any of his shenanigans causing delays.

I honestly couldn’t give a shit less about Alice Cooper. Don’t like his music and don’t care enough for his shows. He does seem to be in a better place than MM. I just don’t like how desperate it seems on MM’s part. You spend all those years trying to distance your self from “shock rock” and prove you’re not the same as bands like Alice Cooper and then you go and tour with them just so people can remember how “shocking” you were. It’s fucking weak.

alice stopped being “shocking” in like 95 or so. from that moment on he said well u cant shock people any more, times are changing… so he is still just having fun. instead of trying to record some retardedly over-conceptualized albums.

Exactly. He is well on record now as saying he’s not a “shock rocker” but an “entertainer” and he just wants to put on good shows with nice production. They really are fantastic all around (sound, performance, props, pyro, choreography, etc.).

Alice doesn’t have anything to prove anymore. He’s just awesome. If people aren’t into his music or theatrics, well then so be it, but he is the epitome of professional entertainer.

Behold, “Fancy Bitch”, Manson’s collaboration with multi-platinum rapper Gucci Mane!!

oh… my… god…

this is the Karl Rove-iest i have ever seen Mr. Manson.

he looks like mashed potatoes in a hotopic pillow case.

either way, this might be listenable. i dont know this… Gucci Mane, but i remember back when i was like… 9 Manson did that song with DMX (homophobic, hateful DMX) and i remember that being something worth sitting through. so… maybe this will be too?

It’s pretty sick.

EDIT: Gucci Mane has a motherfuckin’ ice cream tatted on his face? Best rapper ever.

Wow. . .struggling with relevance?

That is horrid. Must be a joke.

Yes.

And every Alice Cooper album up til From The Inside is a must have. After that…mmm not so much.

My favourite is actually Lace And Whiskey - the one that everyone seems to ignore for some strange reason! Welcome To My Nightmare is for me, the most over rated.

As for Marilyn Manson - yeah the less said the better.

I wonder if anyone has ever said ‘Flush the Fashion’ or 'Dada was their favorite Alice albums…

Sounds fucking stupid.

Flush The Fashion has “Clones” which is amazing.

That Manson rap thing… yeah… no.

I like those records I was just commenting on how you never hear that early 80’s era of Alice referenced as anyones favorite…

Gucci Mane was good in Spring Breakers…that track w/ Manson is do-do though…trite and boring…

he himself stated numerous times, i think even ten years ago, that the world has changed, and some ‘scary’ make-up and whatever else antics that worked in the 70s, dont work anymore to shock people or frighten them, citing numerous news channels being much more scary because what they show there every day is real.

so he basically said - i’m an entertainer now, people love the show and the theater, so i give them that. it’s not ‘scary’ anymore, it’s just FUN. even tho he’s old now and his voice is kind of shot (i mean, he cant sing ‘only women bleed’ or ‘quiet room’ anymore, but come on, he’s like halfway to 70), live he plays stuff going back as far as 70-72, unlike some industrial “legend” that we all know, for example.

flush the fashion is allright, but yeah it was definately a shit period for him. the following albums were worse and worse. just like ozzy, he can’t remember even recording that stuff.

his ‘comeback’ was with constrictor and raise your fist and yell, but today those albums sound incredibly dated - that fucking ugly over-reverbed drum sound and stupid stupid guitar solos that are just i dunno… they’re just there. then his stuff picked up a bit (at first thanks to desmond child, i guess), but it was obvious he was riding the hair metal wave a bit…

anyway, i find his 2011 sequel Welcome 2 My Nightmare to be kind of cool, very varied album, just like his ‘classic’ stuff. however, autotune on first track and presence of kesha on one song kinda harms the album.

It looks like manson straight photobombed these dudes
