Lush/Ministry Lollapalooza '92 pics from Miki Berenyi's collection

Hello everyone, longtime lurker with a first post here.

Miki Berenyi put up photos of her time with Lush for an interview a while back:

A few photos with the Ministry contingent are part of this collection. (I must say, Rieflin looks rather fetching all dragged up [cool])

Thanks, welcome fox.

I must say I have a bit of a thing for M. Berenyi.

Oh, God - who doesn’t!! Beautiful.

Thank you for the welcome, Mick.

And I’m with you and Riverman-- what hetero guy out there wouldn’t find M. Berenyi attractive?

The pics were an interesting slice of history. Kinda wish she had someone take more photos of her and Emma onstage with Ministry. (I didn’t get to a Lollapalooza until '93, which was the last year it was still good).

Miki wrote in the “Ciao! The Best of Lush” collection about getting drunk before getting onstage with Ministry and ending the set by taking a swandive into the crowd and ending up with seven stitches on her head.

“I wasn’t too bothered by getting hurt, I was just mad I ruined my favorite dress.” lol

Nice find. No clue who Lush is, but DAMN, this girl knows how to fill out a Pigface T-shirt.

They were a popular '90s shoegaze/alt-pop band on 4AD.

Lush’s final album in '96, “Lovelife” positioned them to be the next big 4AD crossover after The Breeders. That got quashed after Emma Anderson left the band and Chris Acland committed suicide. They were arguably the most accessible band of the shoegazer scene. Not surprisingly, a lot of their fans liked “Lovelife” the least. I wasn’t too big on it. Then again, I think “Split” was their best work (most fans pick “Spooky” or the EPs that came before it).

I too like Split the best, Desire Lines is one of the most haunting songs ever. As a big Cocteau Twins fan I’ve always been a sucker for shimmering, droning guitars so Lush was great along with MBV.

Big Lush fanboi here!

Used to listen to TONS of ‘shoegazer’ back in the day:

Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Swervedriver, Galaxie 500, Cocteau Twins, Lush, Spiritualized…

Didn’t know that guy committed suicide though. Wow, that’s really bummed my whole day. [:(]

‘Split’ is probably their best studio album alright, though it does have weak points (‘Hypocrite’). The ‘Gala’ collection is a good starting point… at least that’s where I started.
