Read most of the industrial metal chapter of this book at Barnes & Noble the other day - lots of good quotes from Al, Trent, Ogre, Richard Patrick, Rob Zombie, Sean Yseult, Manson, etc including some stuff I’d never heard before (Al claimed to have shaved a passed-out Trent’s head, Yseult says Al nearly drove them off a cliff while they were dating). Worth a peak, and the rest of the book looks pretty interesting too.

What he means is, either your nurse doesn’t know what the fuck she’s talking about or you didn’t understand what she said.
You can get rid of Hep C. It’s a difficult and painful process, but it can be done. It does not transmit like AIDS - it requires blood to blood contact, which is why needle drug users and people that go to shitty tattoo parlors get it.

It is worth noting that AIDS is a syndrome and not a virus. It is a syndrome caused by HIV, which is the transmittable virus. HIV eats away at your CD4 blood cells, destroying your immune system. A healthy CD4 cell count is somewhere between 800 and 1200. When the CD4 count drops below around 150 I think it is, then you have AIDS and are terminal. HIV if detected early can be treated with reasonable success. If you have AIDS you’re fucked and going to hell, having obviously lived a sinful life
Yeah you can beat hepC with an interferon treatment it’s like chemo. I don’t see why he drinks so much though (hepC hurts the liver)

Review:
The book is highly addictive and full of interesting stories. However, after awhile almost every band falls into the exact same pattern:
- We were jamming with some dudes from high school and then after twelve lineup changes we had the sound we wanted!
- We lived in a one bedroom apartment above a slaughterhouse and ate ramen noodles and played all these shitty places and the van kept breaking down.
- We’re totally famous and we fuck no fewer than six women a night and we’re drinking SOOO much and the drugs are awesome and here’s a crazy story…
- When one of our bandmates died/nearly died/became permanently brain damaged we realize we had to change our debaucherous ways.
The only differences are that the death metal and black metal guys didn’t talk about sex much. Because who wants to fuck those dudes?
